because everyone wants to play one class in a game where you can play all classes

You can. Just don't expect that you can get BiS gear for all classes in just some weeks and that you can ignore every 2nd best and 3rd best gear.
If you do Alex savage, gear up first the job you use for Alex savage. If you don't do Alex Savage, then it is not important anyway.

again, im not saying remove the cap, but make the cap based on job. IE 450 a week per job not per player.
yeah and that is another contradiction to one of their main selling points (back in the days) that you have one character and yet can play all jobs with it. That worked in ffxi but not here.
I rather have 1 character, one class and a common chest or something, like other mmos. If they can't do it right they better leave it entirely.

i'm fine with 450 cap now. It doesn't matter to me if it takes more days anyways.
Seriously, the pacing is crap.
2.2 weeks of Esoterics for a single weapon? If you want to get one for every job... it's literally impossible to do so before they become content-irrelevant. That's so uncool, man. I don't get it. What's the point of dragging out single-class gearing to THIS extent when every one has access to multiple jobs and likely gears up more than one job?
And, I mean... three weeks! THREE WEEKS before you can get a single upgraded weapon! JUST ONE! Really? Really, really? The dripfeed has gone too far! (Yes, I know it was even worse with the 1300-tomestone weapons in 2.x, but it was bad then and it's STILL bad now!)
It feels like it defeats the whole point of having carrots on a stick when it takes that long to receive a single carrot. And it's only a carrot, not even a slice of cake!
It's hard to resist the urge to just straight-up un-sub and wait until there's some actual content to consume. At least in 2.x we had the AF armor quests and the relic weapon quest in addition to the tomestone gear (yes, AF armor becomes irrelevant quickly, but you do realize the only reason a lot of people want them in the first place is for the glamour, right?). Now, since I'm not in an Alexander Savage static and don't enjoy even the idea of farming Alexander NM, I'm just left twiddling my thumbs pondering what's next.
Well, 3.1 is what's next, I suppose. Guess I'll do things that I actually find fun in the meantime!
First of all, I don't have an interest in banging my head against a brick wall over and over again (which is effectively what happens when I attempt to clear something like Alexander Savage without the benefit of a decent static), so please forgive me if I ignore the existence of such especially considering I am, you know, part of the 98% in that regard.
Secondly, they expect us to re-run the current content many, many dozens of times over and over again over the next several months, which is where the real problem lies. But, again, that is a standard themepark MMORPG problem and I'm not begrudging them that. What I AM begrudging them is making the whole carrot-on-a-stick too damn slow-paced for me to bother with that level of repetition. It's just not fun for me. I've been putting dozens of hours into Heavensward exclusively and at some point I just want to go do something else unless there's something new and fun to do in the game itself. The tomestone system alone feels like a disincentive to play because I feel obligated to run the expert roulette daily like a part-time job or else I fail to cap for the week and lose progress (and it is effectively lost progress).
It's a crappy system all around and I'm just sick and tired of it. I put up with it through the 2.x series, but going through another round of that in the 3.x series just feels so deeply demoralizing in a very, well, visceral sort of way. Yes, I feel it in my gut! I can feel my sense of self-worth sapping away the more time I spend repetitively running the same dungeon over and over and over again. It's actually starting to make me feel ill.
Maybe themepark MMORPGs just aren't for me anymore. I guess. It's just not working out.

Meh 12870 now for all 13 jobs
Back in 2.4 it was 13000 to get weapons for all 10 jobs
I could really care less about them changing it if they did I'd just grind it and be done you could also be there would be people complaining about how hard it is to cap when they did increase it.
