    A true solution to omnicrafting.

Ok, this patch really messed up crafting.

All things considered, forcing players into such a heavy grind (2-3 months PER crafting class) considering how in 6 to 7 months we are probably going to get a new kind of artisan gear making it realistic to get barely 1 of these red-scrips gear sets if you plan on doing any crafting after (which also requieres materials got via red-scrips...) is plainly speaking, just too much.

Too much effort, too much time and boring to master only one kind of crafter for nothing but only access a few glamour pieces maybe. Right now, the reward is not, and probably will not be, worth the effort, and instead of killing omnicrafting and making it harder for rich players, its just the opposite, cause rich players have that one resource SE can`t control: time.

Placing this kind of time sinks and lockouts will not stop em (as they stop many new, casual or self-centered crafter), with time, richer players will be increasingly richer and achieve the omnicrafting status anyway, cause thats their resource, most other players don`t have or spend on other stuff, time.

So, this patch, the non-sense of weekly lockouts on red-scrips is hardly a solution and in facts, just hurts only the newest most casual crafters while making the omnicrafters just richer and richer.

The true solution to this, is almost implemented in game. Soulstones.
We already have the souls of each crafter as if they were job soulstones. And just like this, instead of limiting the players through grind, limit them through classes.

Only allow i170 and i180 gear to be equiped if the corresponding soulstone is equiped. This way, a max of 3 crafting classes will be true specialist, also, make recipees only craftable when the soulstone is equiped, this way recipees are locked to specialist and specialist alone.

With a cooldown on the exchange of soulstones with the NPC of about 3 weeks, omni-crafting will be gone cause in 1 month, a player will be able to just craft for a max of 4 crafting class (there is 8) but just 3 at the same time. Forcing the crafter classes to finally TRADE instead of just compulsively buying to reduce time spending on lower synths they will actually need other crafters.

With this in place, players will feel like they are finally a specialist, a crafter that is diferent from all others, they will have their own markets too, omni-crafting will be gone for good, market board will see an increase on prices and exchange of goods also, making it balanced, and also will allow for this insane grind to be lowered to a reasonable ammount.

All crafters have their niche markets, combining of materials on each recipee to force trading is always good, but all have almost the same market impact, people might argue that BSM and WVR are kings, but here is where you force them to use more materials of other classes like CRP or GSM.

Please square enix, as an old mastercrafter from the 2.0-2.3 days, save crafting, don`t let it die like this for most players.

Yeah they gotta put making recipes behind specialization, although I think the wrinkle there is that you have to then figure out how to remove recipes once they re-specialize. Right now Omni is better for you than not, cause it lets you use the easiest recipe to get whatever scrip you need.

If they really wanted true specialization, they should have made the whole 50-60 stretch a specialization stretch, i.e. you can only choose 3 crafting classes to level up to 60.

At level 60, you can "respec" to other crafting classes with like a week-long cooldown with a hefty price (say a week's worth of red scripts). Then never design any shared gear between crafting classes.

This is what i expected honestly, the real issue here, is the way SE is adressing omni-crafting (which is making us go through a mindless grind) instead of using the systems they already have in place, like, level caps, or as i propose, the soulstones. Any would be a much better solution, and will put a real end to omni-crafting. Now, they just made omni-crafting a thing of months instead of weeks, so much for that.

You must be joking about how long you think this grind is going to take...are you just willfully ignorant to all the exp options?

Omni-crafters tend to go for melded gear... since all the new recipes are possible to craft without the new gear, at most they're going to craft the new main and off-hand tools and stick to using the "old" crafted generic gear + new accessories maybe.
Until such a time comes when more is actually needed.
Just like how people stayed in HQ pentamelded Patrician through 2-star level 50 and only went higher when that was no longer enough.

Red scrips gear is good for the rest of us.

If they wanted to eliminate it they wouldn't let you take more than one craft.

I don't believe they are compalining about the EXP grind - hell that's so easy I'm mostly doing GC provisions - and even that not every day or for all and I have most at lvl53 some 54 some 52. It's the endgame grind that the complaint is for.

Yeah it's not about getting to 60. It's that there's a weekly cap and the materials you need to build things come from that currency.
