Soloing Ifrit HM is so much easier on my WAR then DRK -_-. I've only beaten it with 50% Echo on Drk, probably would've with 40 tbh but I botched the nail phase being a dumbass. I didn't even know you could reach 50% Echo. I've seen PLD's also handle the fight just fine with Clemency but I haven't seen any other Drks complete it.

If someones got 0-30% Echo wins with Drk, what ilvl and whats your general means of handling it? I initially attempted Shadowskin starts, then switched to Dark Dance/and or DA dark passenger starts. By the time I reach 50% Echo Soul eater basically keeps me at full health so most of the 'challenge' is gone. Granted if I didn't botch the nail phase 40% likely would've sufficed. During his rush phase there is zero ability to heal since soul eater needs a target as does bloodbath, and while not taking damage on it, it does mean a soul eater or delirium combo has to be restarted.. which means 2* gcd's he gets to whack on me without heals.

I'll second Therdyns suggestion of OBS, its good, you may need to tinker with the default settings through to get the quality you want.

The problem is, Warrior and Paladin simply beat Drk in self healing.

Those 1200 Potency heals alone set then leagues apart in self healing, and Drk doesn't have one. 100% Souleater return isn't that good either, it's like relying on Inner Beast for it's HP return and not it's mitigation. Ontop of that, you only get that return while in Grit, meaning no matter what 20% of your damage when self healing is gone, and to self heal to begin with, you have to do a bunch of combos with Grit up. I knew this would be a problem the instant I noticed Drk has no version of those heals at all. It puts them in 3rd when it comes to survivability in soloing old content.

War can hop into Defiance, Equilibrium, easily crit heal themselves for 10k+, then 10 seconds later back into Deliverance doing more damage than a Drk can do as well.
Paladin just needs to not get interrupted when casting Clemency, and they're fine. Sheltron and Riot blade will take care of their MP.

Edit: Gave it a try, and what it comes down to really, I cant manage to balance self healing, and enough offense to down the nails. Either I have to keep Grit on to fight against the constant HP decay from his attacks, the breath of which hits for a constant 1.5k, or I die quickly while trying to use Blood Weapon outside of Grit. Just cant keep myself alive while trying to do enough damage at the same time, even in full slaying.

sole survivor wouldn't help that much with the nails either...

i'm finding it impossible to solo any of the 50 dungeons as a drk...while i feel like it's entirely doable as a pld or WAR. friend had no trouble doing one of the newer ones as a whm too. ugh, i love this job to death, but i don't understand why they undertuned it...

It doesn't, I Sole Survivored the first nail because I was low on both HP and MP from having to DA Souleaters so much to get good returns on HP back, and it didn't do much at all.

figured as much. guessing your tp was suffering as well by that point too. (only respite i noticed was his charges, and that doesn't last too long).

I don't leave Grit for it. Initially attempted as such for the nail phase but unless your echo boosted to the 9's you pretty much "save" more health staying in grit and healing then taking the 20% more to try and get the 2k. I don't require the 50% echo now and brought it down to 20% echo. During nail phase I DA Dark passenger Ifrit through a nail and that cuts some of the damage, tabbed to him low blows and tab back to my nail. Do my SE combos while setting up Salted Earth on my next nail. Had like 800 health left popped defense Cds + bloodbath and was able to heal up enough during the stun then another Passenger got me through. As I can tell the damage you don't take due to Passenger is stronger the. Then attempting to outheal with just DA soul eaters.
