2.0 Collectors Phsyical Disc help

if i use the disc to install FFXIV base game again, can i download the rest via patch progress? i ask this because my net isnt the best at the moment due to moving etc. and since my windows corrupted and i need to do a fresh install because no boot disc, im just tryna see if i can save some time.

As long as you're referring to A Realm Reborn when you say 2.0 (and not mixing that up with the original 2010 release of the game aka 1.0), then yes, you can re-install the game starting with the 2.0 physical disc and then patch from there.

I would think that if we were able to do it before we'd be able to do it again. No reason they'd change that. My thoughts about the physical disk has been that it would be convenient if your internet has a monthly data cap or something like that so you wouldn't have to dl such a heavy load.

I'm sure you can do this OP, but it may only save you a couple of gigs for the download. There has been quite a bit added since the 2.0 days. Even when 2.0 released, it was still a large patch after installing from the CDs.
