    Would it be possible to allow AF2 to go into the Armoire?

    I'd rather not have to dedicate half of my retainer inventory to be filled with all of my jobs AF2 armor when it eventually becomes inferior to the 3.2 gear. I understand the tome gear has never had this happen before, but given how much effort the designers put into making the gear as well as the importance the AF2 is towards our job progression, it'd be a nice thing to see happen.

    Gear that can be purchased and repurchased typically doesn't make it into the Armoire. Its purpose is to hold items that can never be acquired again, like the original quested AF, or gear from old holiday events. Note, many of these items CAN be acquired again, now, via the cash shop or the Calamity Salvager, but at the time they were added to the Armoire if you threw them way they were Gone Forever. The purpose of the Armoire is to prevent folks from being frustrated by the fact that they have to choose between using precious inventory space and throwing away something that's outdated but irreplacable.

    AF2, if you throw it away, you can always build up tomestones to buy a replacement. It may not be fun to do, but you have that ability. Even when Tomestones move on to bigger and better armor, AF2 will still be available in some form, much like the dungeon-dropped tokens that allow you to acquire Relic armor.

This is just AF armour with a more time consuming way of being obtained, I don't see why they can't let us throw it in the Armoire. Only main 2 classes and I'm almost running out of inventory + retainer space.

    All th' classes had their own i90 sets and ya can't store that shite either, even as it gradually fell down the lists of impressive gear ta its sorry fate as some dungeon drops. This new crap is th' same kinda stuff really, so it seems like we're outta luck on that one.

    Wouldn't mind it either, considerin' my retainers got less space in 'em than ever. An I've been tryin real hard ta part with costume pieces already. S'hard.

    The difference though is that myth is a recolored version of AF. AF2 has no myth counterpart until it's upgraded.

    SE doesn't care if an item is recolored or not. Again, that's not the point of the Armoire. Its sole use is to give you an alternative to throwing away equipment that is no longer useful, but can't be replaced. Lunar, Green, Striped, Black swimsuits? All storable. Coeurl, Sea Breeze? Not storable. All recolors of the same model. Why the difference? The former are event items and one-time bonuses. The latter are crafted and obtained by desynthesis. Throw away the latter, and you can desynth more fish to replace them. Throw away the former? Your only hope is for them to eventually appear at the Mogstation Store, or from the Calamity Salvager. In this case, if you dropped your Black swimsuit, you're out of luck, as it is not available in either. Good thing we have the Armoire!

    It's not good to think of the Armoire as another page of inventory that's just less convenient to access. That's not what it is. It's provided as a courtesy, to save folks the stress of losing certain items forever simply because they don't have the luxury of enough space to hold them. Things that can't be lost forever? They will never be part of the armoury, no matter how obnoxious it was to obtain them. AF2 falls squarely in that category; obtaining them may be time consuming, but if you throw one on the ground, you can just go through the same process to get another.

    You might ask why, if this is what the Armoire is for, you CAN still store items that can be re-obtained from the Calamity Salvager? Simple - by the time the items were added to the Salvager, a ton of people were already storing those items. It would cause irritation, to say the least, if SE were to suddenly delete all those items. So, once storable in the Armoire, always storable in the Armoire.

    @LineageRazor

    While I understand your explanation.

    Personally I think a long-term gear storage solution is needed. There are many pieces of gear that take considerable effort to acquire, reacquire-able or not.

    We need a "wardrobe museum" (or just repurpose the Armoire for that) that can store 1 of every piece of gear (with all customizations removed; i.e. just the base gear) that you can directly glamour from. This way we never have to throw anything out only to regret it later.
