Auri Females could use some more expressions/facial animations

Not sure on the males, but coming from a Lalafell, I'm used to seeing my character take an expression while gathering, crafting and various activities. Doing things that required effort would show an effort in the characters facial expression. It really made things look and feel great.

Since changing, I've noticed most/all? of that is missing. She seems lifeless. I really do like my character that I've made, but she seems so dull due to that!

Wondering if there just wasn't time to work on some of this stuff, and maybe it'll come along later. I might end up back as a shortie if they're intended to be as such.

since the race is based on Japanese standards like an "elegant" type or character, you will have all the expressions Rei Ayanami has...

Same reason why highlanders don't have eyebrows, based of the buff male stereotype they have, also why Roe males tend to be soft hearted as NPC... man, after so many years of watching anime I can spot the tropes quite easily (not that they are not easy to spot anyway), different cultures different standards

That said, yeah, I would like more variety and less stereotypes in character customization.

Do they have a "go to sleep" animation before logging out in the Inn rooms? Male don't. :/

I can't say. I haven't been to an Inn for quite a while. Shame if that's the case. :/

I feel like Inns were almost 100% forgotten aside from the cutscene book and the chest to store stuff in which i think can be put in housing since EXP rest bonus wasn't restricted to it anymore, not that it should be an excuse to leave out the animations for those who like it.

I did see my Au Ra get out of bed when I was one which I thought was pretty cute but I never tried actually checking if there was any for them when going to sleep.

(I'm lala again now regardless of what my lodestone is showing for forums.)

Yes they do. They crawl into bed and carefully position themselves so as to not lie on their tail. (I'm one of the homeless on my server so the various inns are where I sleep.)

Yes, female Au Ra have a go-to-sleep animation. They climb onto the bed and roll onto their side, facing away from the camera.

I'm pretty surprised the male Au Ra don't - you sure you don't have a cutscene filter turned on that might block this?

They do have have an animation, they lie on their bed in a really straigth position on their back, and the /doze make them sleep on the side.

The Male Au Ra Inn sleeping possition is pretty plain compared to other races, yet practical. They lie straight on their back which makes sense due to the horns....but not sure how practical that is for the long backwards facing horn (like in my sig)

You haven't clearly played Female Midlander, they're just as "robotic." Just because it's not overly expressive, doesn't mean it's wrong, like jazo said it's mainly a cultural thing (and not just Japan, mind you, I find it applicable to the Nordics too although not as extreme).

If you want something different, play something different, races have varying type of emotes for that very reason. Lalafells have one of the most expressive faces due to their huge eyes, plus all that limb flailing they can and have to do for being so small. And then there's Highlander Female, the clear #1 of expressive emotes.

I actually think Au Ra is just fine and if anything Female Midlander needs to be fixed, they're not just "calm and quiet" type, more of a completely bland and boring - which is a shame because I love their look.
