Why are you all so bent on being omni everything? Didn't you read the notes about S_P_E_C_I_A_L_I_Z_A_T_I_O_N

You don't need specalist skills for any of the new 2* crafts.
But even if you did, I don't think I'd be keen on trusting anoither craft with 10's of millions of gil in crafting mats, because the are so crazy hard/limited to get.
Gear is already sold in idyllshire, new crafting mats which require red scripts too.

When I saw both the i180 token gear and the i170 crafted gear, I was under the assumption that you would need the i180 token gear to even get close to HQing any of the 2-star items, and when you finally got your fill i170 crafted set, that would simply make it easier to HQ the 2-star items. Here's for hoping that grade 5 materia won't be stuck to mutamix conversions until a later patch ...

Looks like you get 60 Red scrips per ET hour if you can only do either mining, botanist or fishing.
''normal'' nodes overlap (Chysahl Green/Adamantite ores) and the other option requires a specific folklore.
Which means that obtaining 450 red scrips takes 7.5 ET days, which interestingly is about the same amount of time it takes to collect enough blue scrips for 1 folklore tome, if you do both bot+mining options in the hinterlands.

With my perception i get 3 items per spot, so 72 red scrip per 72 rl minutes - so capping my scrip should take a total of going to nodes 13 times. Its no so bad compared to the crafting scrip. But my culinarian will be doing those, i can live making 45 morel salads for stuff x.xLooks like you get 60 Red scrips per ET hour if you can only do either mining, botanist or fishing.

Christ why would you even bother. Considering the current cost of mats and finished item worth VS the amount you need to cap Red Scripts you would make more selling those than doing anything else.
Initially i looked at the non-meldable gear and thought it was quite cool, but now considering the cost of grinding those Red Scripts i'm thinking a fully melded set of standard 60 gear is only lightly worse and will see you to crafting most of what you need.
This isn't a great sample size by any means, however I bought 2 favors, the first one after using all 5 charges yielded 14 bladeleaf and 1 swordleaf. The second one I got 1 Wyvern Wart in the 15 minute window before rage quitting gathering. I'd predict at least 2 scrips per synth of 1 base mat, since you need 10 mining and 10 botany items + 1 crafter scrip.
Updating: decided to go back to the Churning Mists and try for wyverns wart again, got another 1 in 15minutes.

The Favor system sounds a bit confusing to me as I've only read about it so far but it does seem like it's going even less rewarding than I initially thought... I need to do more research. This isn't a great sample size by any means, however I bought 2 favors, the first one after using all 5 charges yielded 14 bladeleaf and 1 swordleaf. edit : it would seem -rounding up widely- that, maybe, very depending on RNG (and sheer will), you would need about the same amount of gatherers' redscrips as crafters' redscrips to get the materials needed. Or more simply :
1 token = 5 favors = 20 items (actually seems more like 17...?)
Since the nodes themselves aren't that hard to get, I guess the "best choice" -if you want to go down that road- would be to use all of your gatherers' redscrips for 23 weeks, on favors...

Worst part:
At this point you put all this time and money in your gatherers/crafters so you can gather/craft more. Im not counting the few furnitures (yay 2 furnitures) you can make then or the i180 crap because its basically worthless. In 3.2 or some time down the road they will nerf the old gear so you can get the new one easier, like they cut down the items made for artisan tools back in 2.4 to 5 needed instead of 50. So i hope for a token downcut to 20% or less of the original price.
But as it is now (I was an omnicrafter in 2.x just so i could make what i wanted to be made) there is actually nothing in the 2 star range that i WANT/NEED to make. I can gather all items needed for anything below 2 star, and i can craft everything up to 1 star without melding 2-3m gil in my gear.
So basically, for me as self sufficient person nothing changed to the 3.0 release except that i will grind my weekly 450 scrip and get tokens so i can get stuff when the amounts are nerfed. Im pretty sure they will find a way then to add MORE red scrip gear down the road and 3- and 4- star recipes that will need the same amount of grind >.>
