Hopefully once they rework the CC system and drop the PS3 it'll make it a possiblity. But they don't have butts because it makes fitting the armor easier across the races (Why armor looking perfectly fit to butts is important is beyond me but whatever), chances are until that's changed, the Viera would have to have a flat butt too.

Yep, it's super dull character design wise due to how pervasive it is in fantasy races (The whole "delicate" or "voluptuous" looking women) imho. Heck even the Highlanders and Roegadyn are pretty darn busty, they just lack the buns, and ultimately lack several of the "tough" traits that the men of their races have (Eyebrows with highlanders and thick, bulky bodies with the Roegadyn). I'd prefer having women that are just as bulky and tough looking as the men of their race first, seeing how rarely it's done in fiction.

That's the thing, we've already got a Matriarchal society (Several Xaela tribes are notable and the Moon Keepers), but they choose to opt away from it. I wouldn't mind a race with the men who look like as cute and small as Alphinaud is, but it's likely not going to happen, SE had a perfect excuse with the Au Ra (The girls were made to look more akin to Midlanders and Miqo'te due to most of the population being on those two races and yet the males are closer to the Elezen and Roegadyn). Likewise, if the Viera were still "voluptuous" and pretty (Which they would, otherwise SE would have a riot from the fanbase >_>), then certain connotative values "tall" (IE, tough and intimidating) are lost, hence why I feel it'd be a waste of the inversion.

I'd prefer if they just give Highlanders eyebrows first, I really don't get why it's not already an option, they can't even use "Ps3 limitations"/"core system issues" for it. I know the next race is probably going to be Viera, the demand is too high and SE is so likely to just their main demographic again, I just wish they'd opt for original race designs. Heck just any race where the women don't look pretty/cute/sexy 99% of the time and are more tough and intimidating would be well appreciated from me, I just highly doubt it'll ever happen.

Radgers. They live far below the ground. With there being so many different types of Regular Badgers you'd have a lot to play with in regards to appearance. Their homes are made from rock beneath the surface, where they've also built entire cities. Their enemies are the Sisalisk - Reptilian types creatures who were driven from the surface from everyone else.

I think an interesting design would be a playable robot race. As we get closer to the Garlean empire, Garleans have designed a race of magitec beings that have become self aware. Some of the "Magiteceans" rebel against their creators and become adventurers.

I was thinking something like that but maybe Allag in origin. Like the warforged in D&D.

There's a reason they made a very explicit beast-race vs races-of-man split...

So in light of that, my more feasible choice is:

Me, easily. I honestly hope that the next new race won't be something cute for the sake of being cute. Take the Krogan, Turian, Roegadyn and Galka for example. They're not designed to be adorable/cute, yet people, like myself, can see them as cute/adorable when they make the right facial expression, do certain motions, etc (things designed to be cute for the sake of being cute I shun. It's not interesting).

I'd really want to stay away from it, sure it's cute, it might be nice to have playable hybrids in game, but Lalafell already cut it very close to pandering to the lolicon crowd, which is what I'd hope this game would keep away from. That and the fact that if the current hybrid in the game, Lalafell/Miqo'te would look like a Lalafell with Miqo'te ears and tail or a Miqo'te with bigger hips (Or something) and Lalafell eyes. But... That's all I'm gonna say, we've beaten this horse in other threads.

I know, it's the overall option to make it cute or tough is what matters. It's possible to make a cute looking Roegadyn lady. Will she be tall as heck? Sure. Can her face be made to be pretty cute? Very much so possible. Now.. To do the opposite, I find it kind of hard to make something closer to a "tough/intimidating" Auri girl, Miqo'te girl, or Lalafell, which is the issue. Considering the devs lean for "Cute races" why not start with a tough looking race that can look cute due to some options?

Like ideas for a "Tough race that can be made 'cute' ", therefore circumventing the whole "The fanbase wants cute stuff, therefore SE won't ever make a tough/beastlike race"
- Make it so the race has fur/scales/feathers over it's body, but one of it's options is to turn down the fur.
- Large height ranges work well too (As there's certain implied connotative values with big = tough small = cute ).
- One clan is more "beast like" and tough, the other more cute.
- Give their emotes a good mix between cute or tough (Like a very expressive and childish /huh compared to a quicker more relaxed /huh) or alternative introduce emote sets that'd change these.

Something that's more interesting than just "cool dude/cute girl that are basically human except with little things on their heads and maybe a tail."

I like the Allagan sentient mechanical race idea. Or, if we're going to "sea" in the next expansion, maybe some kind of Sahagin offshoot.
