I see we still haven't learned that Armor works differently in the world of JP. Less clothing means more defense. We could argue this all day but it is the golden rule of JRPGs. We need more sexy clothing because it's about looking stylish, not about the realism. There is no such thing as realism in a world of magic and dragons!

I don't know why people single out Japan. The "less you're wearing, more you're protected" rule for women applies all across the Fantasy and Sci-Fi genres. I mean, hell, even Game of Thrones makes ample use of it.

I thought so, too. I mean, I remember the threads from way back asking why it was even there when the male characters didn't have one. Now that we have some equality in design it's all, "Where my window at?"... Really?... Really?!

The 'philosophy' of "less is more" is as far from Japanese as you can get. It's a rather decidedly Western point of view stemming from the same artistic mindset that gave us Boris Vallejo and Conan the Barbarian.
