It worries me that the Devs seem to think things are already balanced - are they playing the same game?

If it's the vocal minority, why is it that most of what we see in feedback on the AST class says that they need further adjustments and balancing?

When I see astrologians shrink like summoners did at the later half of ARR 2.0 then your point will be well made. It is people are calling for buffs that are not needed. The healing aspect of the Astro is fine. And yes it is a vocal minority because most people who are playing the game are just playing the game and enjoying the job. Astrologian is well represented right now.

Just wondering if anyone has taken a WHM/AST comp into A1 savage and cleared/close to enrage? Played SCH last week and were quite close to clearing but I'd still like to take AST out of the wood works and take it for a test run - Only downside is that it would be a new experience and may cause some new learning curves.
If you did go, was nocturnal efficient or did diurnal overpower it?
What do you mean shrink? To nonexistence at all? When I see astrologians shrink like summoners did at the later half of ARR 2.0 then your point will be well made. The Astrologean population is already one of the lowest, and the people that actually did clear the hard content straight up get asked to switch from AST to something else by their group.
I see you say things like this a lot "I see.." the game and it's balance doesn't revolve around how YOU feel. The straw poll done recently on Reddit had a sample size of over 12,000 people responding.. and Astrologian was waaaay down at the bottom. We get it, you think the Job is fine. And honestly, that's fine. You're entitled to your opinion, but please, for the love of the Twelve, stop trying to silence everyone else's voice. Just because we're vocal doesn't immediately make us the minority. When I see astrologians shrink like summoners did at the later half of ARR 2.0 then your point will be well made. Yes. Let's wait till after four or five patches before buffing the astrologian so that it can upkeep with white mage or scholar. Heck, might as well just wait to buff it in the next expansion then. By then, it's numbers will have shrunk to summoner's in 2.0.... (sarcasm)
I can feel, even doing baby Alexander that if my other healer in a pug sucks or is just not doing anything, it can be rough to get people back up during first turn as an astrologian. I love the class, and want it to work but the tools they gave white mage and the lower potency heals I have on astrologian has made me get my white mage to 60 for raids.

Ah yes, handwaving it away as vocal minority. People can call any number of respondents a vocal minority when they try to provide feedback on what they've experienced in game I suppose. I feel calling it a vocal minority is on the same level of namecalling people noobs, scrubs or nerds.
Its what we've seen in game. It's what we've felt playing the game. It's based on what we've seen people do. I've watched people go in full steam as AST to savage and come out switching to WHM and one shotting it after a night of failures as AST. Just leveling all three healers, you can feel how poorly AST is kitted out by 50 compared to other healers with a complete set of heals, emergency moves, and support skills on demand. AST spends 50-60 picking up support skills that WHM and SCH got the equivalents of on the way to 50, and are now fleshing out their class with nice extras and upgrades to already solid skillsets.
SE clearly can add additional skills to a job, they did it with stuff like Stoneskin II. They can overhaul classes, we saw them do it with WAR in 2.1
It's time they do it again.
