Shoulder Tackle his face right after you get hit by Tri-disaster, use the stun time to cleanse all your debuffs if available, stun him again with Steel Peak, and then One Ilm Punch him (may need a few uses) to make him completly useless (loss of Aetherflow or Bahamut stacks = dead SMN), then proceed to finish him. I'm a SMN myself, and I can easily say that MNKs are one of my primary target just for that reason. I usually have to kill them ASAP or else I'm dead.
Read the post I quoted from (myself), and you know what you said is true. As MNK I find SMN and BLM easiest to kill.
