I am at a loss on these Esoterics Weapons...

So as I am sure you all have found out by now what we thought to be our new relics turned out to be esoteric weapons. Now I am a bit thrown here... but the weapons our job trainers use have always been relics specific to our jobs and get the originals made anew based on our descriptions to Gerolt.

If we are in fact getting relics, cool. If this is the precursor and we don't have to go off on a string of quests to get it made at first, that is cool too. But I got to know what is going on here. Some information from a COMREP would be great.

Does make you wonder how the new relic weapons will work...maybe the theory that we can use the old Zetas in its creation isn't so far fetched now.

I dont remember the whm trainers using thyrus, or the blm ones using the stardust rod, or the drg one, or the pld onehaving the relics? Tbh, its been awhile, but I dont remeber any of the trainers having the relics.

The job trainers used a model of the relic weapons (stardust rod, artemis bow, etc) Though I'm not sure on the color of it.

Huh. Could swear Jenlyns didnt have Cutanina, and i know the whm brother didn't have thyrus. Aleric doesnt carry the DRG one. I do vaguely remeber the bard having artimis now that you mention it.

The roegadyn paladin guy (name escapes me) had both curtana and holy shield, a-igotownedby-kobolds had thyrus, and Derpgoon had gae bolg. Granted they're probably just weapon models and not the actual relic itself (since they're supposed to be one of a kind or something...)

Technically none of those were actually your trainers. A towa shows up for one scene. I'm also speaking about the pre-hwdoesn't s as the implication was that the weapons in the hw quests would be the new relics as the ARR trainers had carried them, the point I was contending. Also Jenlyns is your trainer, not the former captian. I couldnt remember if the sword he supossedly stole was a curtiana model or not. But Jenlyns certainly doesn't carry one preHW.

You clearly go through all of HW with that Dragoon bloke who has a Gae Bong on his back for the whole story.

thyrus was being used by the ghost of a famed white mage, stardust i believe was using a reclolored version, estinien used gae bolg, and paladin was being used by Solkzagyl. war, and brd were used by the job givers.
