That is true for anything listed as a "new recipe." They are adding back any items they put accidentally on the "remove list" that are called for in new recipes.

Since there are not any new recipes this time around for Alchemy, and since a large amount of the drops alchemists use will no longer be available from vendors, gathering, leves, or mob drops, alchemists will have a tricky time finding items to skill on once the existing supplies are used up.

It isn't forever - they are adding new recipes in the next patch - and for all we know, perhaps they will add them in one of the mini patches they do between major patches.

For the OP - you will still be able to level your Alchemist through leves and using up any existing items with the old recipes. I agree that it sucks - I am in the middle of bringing my alchemy up too and I am probably going to just shelve it after my supplies run out, at least until the next patch.
