    The thing that is kind of annoying, and maybe if I thought real hard I could figure it out, is why stats have diminishing returns as you level up but the stats from gear gain value. Why not just make it linear...? By making it non-linear it is going to get a hell of lot more complicated to figure out, for example, the relative merit of STR vs. Attack say vs. Accuracy. Oh well, guess will have to see it is once implemented.

    I kinda wondered about this myself, I didn't understand why the effect has to change. I assume it has to do with the implementation of the materia system.

    Example:

    Joe Casual has a level 26 ARC, it is more beneficial for this player to see larger returns from stat allocation which they will receive regardless, as they aren't likely to be hunting BiS gear - nor likely to obtain it easily.

    Mary Hardcore who has four level 50s, a large LS and does constant end-game style
