The thing that is kind of annoying, and maybe if I thought real hard I could figure it out, is why stats have diminishing returns as you level up but the stats from gear gain value. Why not just make it linear...? By making it non-linear it is going to get a hell of lot more complicated to figure out, for example, the relative merit of STR vs. Attack say vs. Accuracy. Oh well, guess will have to see it is once implemented.
