Of course. But let's say that you run Ravana and die to DPS checks 3 times. If you parsed yourself all 3 times and see a gradual improvement in the numbers for the same exact fight, you know you are making progress.One of many reasons damage dealer should not be a role in any video game. If people need external tools just to play the game effectively, the mechanic should be tossed, not preserved as it has been. Plus, DPS parsers have their limits, and fools will try to gauge a particular DD's effectiveness when they know nothing about the class or situation they are in. For instance, you aren't going to get perfect, unobstructed DPS on a boss like Ravana. Especially with directional damage (flank, rear, etc).
