Just speculating, but from the scroll description it sounds like a turn-in for Rowena's House of Splendors. I'm thinking the Blue/Red Scrips are like daily hunts and the scrolls will be your weekly B rank. When I was looking at the new main hand tools, if you wanted to purchase them it takes 26 tokens (1300 red scrips/3 weeks) and a scroll item of some kind. Does anybody know how to get that scroll item or is it something that is being added in the Thursday patch when they add in red scrips?
I am at work so I did not have time to look over things properly this morning but the requirements so far are just mind boggling, I can only hope on Thursday they allow you to spend law/poetics on items like they did in 2.0+ with coke, potash, ect.

I sadly have to also agree. I'm not an end level crafter (only 2*) but with HW I was hoping to at least level all to 60 & try to breach the top. I'm not sure if to bother at all. I've already got gathering to deal with and the unpleasant way it has been manipulated at post-56.
Things seem to be geared towards throwing everything at DoW/M like rice but making the rest of 3.0, including PVP (IMHO), painful to the point of unpleasantness.

I've pretty much lost all interest in crafting. I felt pretty discouraged with how things were set up at expansion launch, but figured things would be better once we got Red Scrips. Turns out I was wrong about that. I don't mind some gating for crafting progression, but gating *everything* is really excessive.
I think scrolls are just same old proofs as Talan had them. Just named differently, have to craft some specialty mat with zilions of collectability

The best part of all this grind, is that any mercenary will most likely profit tens of times more than any mastercrafter with half the effort and 10 times less time consumption. GG Square-Enix.
At 2.0 i was fascinated how crafting was, till about the 2.4 patch, where suddenly everything was just sluggish grindy, and now this? enough is enough i say. Im making anywhere between 3-5 mill a week with just what i have and i will not keep going into this grind. I put more effort and time than any raider and get tons less payback, any crafter deserves much, much more than this.
And as a solution to the omni-crafting, this is ridiculous, you are only making it worse, any new crafter, or casual crafter, even some mastercrafters will look at this and say "lol nope, i have a life". Leaving as always, just the very very richest and most most dedicated crafters, lets say, about 10 to 15 per server? to take long, but without doubt still be omnicrafters (cause specializations are lol useless) to run the economy of the whole server. Crafting is, right now, the most grindy piece of content of the game, and the reward, is not even close to the time investment for it.
Good job SE, your attemps to kill omni-crafting killed just the crafting part. Omni-crafters will continue, they just, will be fewer and richer.

3 weeks to get one tool, 24 to get them for all classes. Then the endless grind to get the mats to be able to make the gear.
I will get my weekly 450 and i will get token with it. But i wont get tools or materials.
The system is too complicated and the gating sucks. I want to make my own shit on my own time on my own conditions and not buy crap from the MB for ridiculous prices because i did not spend 3 month getting scrip and can not make it.
So... yeah - thanks SE for ruining crafting - it was fun while it lasted. Now its tedious as irl work, and there i at least get a good wage out of it and not some shitty data that will be useless when you decide to release new gear.
So long ('-')/
While i dislike this approach to crafting alot, you can also view it in another way:
Now while everything is gated you can just do your weekly craft and then spend your time doing everything else.
Crafting didnt get suddenly more time consuming, it just takes more time to gear up. It gives casual crafters a chance to catch up since everyone can only progress so much (except you find someone to sell you the scrip mats and/or have the money to buy them)
So after i said that, SE plz change =D Dont want to gear up all my crafting classes just for you to end up implementing universal crafting equipment in 2 or 3 patches

Except it doesnt. Casual crafters will take even longer because they cant make their own equipment. So they will be forced to go the longer route of buying their equipment directly with red scrips.
Btw, since all 2* have materials locked behind red scrips, you wont even be able to make a single one or you will take x weeks longer to obtain your own equipment.
About 32 weeks if you craft them all yourself. (rough estimate) That's ofcourse assuming you HQ every single one of them. Without HQ scrip materials. (so only at about 5/11 or such starting HQ). Havent counted the ''bought with scrips'' route, but its much longer. (2 tools per week if crafted, 1 tools per 3 weeks if bought)

So, what's the time-frame to fully gear all 8?
Honestly, I missed the time-wall for Poetics, and I find the idea of 3 weeks for a weapon (I have about three weeks left on my sub) to be too much. I'm also a builder-o'-the-realm though, and so I decided to see if crafting was in a better place (and then I could do that instead of esoteric grinding). It seems to actually be worse considering leveling just one crafter isn't particularly viable financially. Ouch.
