Forbidden Melding T5's

So looking at the new meld caps... Most pieces of gear require at least 1 (sometimes many more) forbidden melds with T5 materia to hit the caps. If T5 materia isn't added to red script exchange then I really don't know what SE is thinking here. Your average crafter won't even come close to being able to afford those melds.

I'm going to go with "not that" as the answer to what an average crafter is. I'd say I'm ahead of the curve myself - out of my mostly friends FC with 4-5 people active in crafting, I was the only one to get every Lucis crafting tool, the first Grandmaster of the Hand, and the only one with all 8 recipe books (as of a whopping yesterday) - but if you've actually dropped 50 million on materia then congrats, you've spent about the same as all the money I've ever made.

To the OP's point: Tier V materia can't be melded to the initial level 60 gear set anyway, and from the look of it, it will be generally possible to at least exceed the turn-in only gear with melds that don't involve V's. The market for V materia will mostly be people who want to tweak out 2-star gear sets to last as long as possible and/or get the drop on the next tier.

What is the ilvl requirement for t5s because Yoshi said they wouldn't be available for gathering and crafting till red scripts without gob mashing. Or is this the first set of blue gear designed to be materiaed?

Sucks to be you. You're never getting that 50 mil back, because crafting gear for PVE progression is no longer a thing.
