I don't know what you mean by "registering". I don't understand much of what you said at all, really. The application process is what gives you a reference, since most of them (any of them worth their salt at least) will have a question about "Were you referred to this Linkshell, and by whom?"

Our linkshell app is simple. What's your name? What's your highest class? Who (if anyone) referred you? Why do you want to join us? What would you like to know about us before you join?

Nothing about demanding allegiance, listing past achievements, committing to hours of playtime per week. It's nothing more than a medium for introducing yourself to the LS and stating your desire to join.
You forgot to mention your Ls enforces people to go to events or they'll get a personal advisory for missing an event. I don't want that. I choose to play FFXIV to be a casual game not someone who (not you) is a pencil pusher demanding me to do things that I set my time between work & gaming.

Instead of applications, you can speak to them online and get to know them. Asking questions online is no different than an applications. In my opinion, describing your self and answering questions for LS masters only makes the masters life easier to bring members in, where as the applicant does more work.

No thank you.
