It's not odd-- it's exactly the same as it was in 2.xx. BiS gear was a mixture of Ironworks and Dreadwyrm to ensure that both were relevant to endgame.

This is true, but to me personally it feels odd^^;, kinda takes away a bit of the value of those hard-to-get raid bits if they aren't going to be the BiS, considering how much of a PITA it is to get them~ Both can still be relevant to endgame, but one can be a little more relevant! I hope I managed to make my thoughts a little clearer? XD You'll have to forgive me, I can't brain well today (send coffee!)

So what your saying is you agree with what SE is doing. It's ok agree with them if you wish. But my ? still remains why does SE want people to unsub so bad? Do they not realize most if not all the real raiders are only gonna like I said get there bis upgrade them then unsub till new content. Tell me how is that smart for business?

Reason why you don't run a business, and Yoshida do. And he has done it well to bring FFXIV from the ashes of 1.0 to where it is now.

Every business person who worth their salt knows that they can't have everyone as their customer and thus they need to think how they could appeal to as much and as wide of a customer base as possible.

Exactly why Yoshida have to make rewards and appeals to players who have the appetite for more.

No way a brand title like Final Fantasy is going to go down to be a casual as f*** game like playing Maple Story so have fun thinking that those who managed to clear top contents shouldn't have their fair share of rewards. Unhappy? Please go ahead and unsub. Games should be making you happy.

I bet there will be other means to upgrade the stuff later on. Perhaps they will add the items in the upcomming raid, just like how they did before.

I've been playing since launch. I've many a raider follow with what I'm stating. They gear up then take a break hiatus whatever you want to call it till new content comes out. I'm not saying if you don't put in the effort that you should be rewarded the same as those who do. So come off it and stop accussing me of saying such things. Question why should we not be all on the same page as others? Are they so wonderful that only they should get that kinda treatment? Some people can't find statics to beat things not that they haven't tried. Some people are not in large fc's or in a fc that has at least 8 members. And some people have time restraints that keep them from being able to raid. Does that mean they shouldn't be able to get upgrades because of said things. SE said this game was meant for casuals. How does tying things behind raids make this game a casual friendly game. To me its more of a raider friendly game.

This is a casual friendly game, get a hang of yourself. Majority of the contents are casual in nature.

just like real life, you have to work for it. And the stuff that's locked behind the Raid is not needed to enjoy the casual parts of FFXIV, those are for the Raiders that wanna work for it.
in 2.xx I never finished Coil, just downed T5 before 3.0. It didn't stop me from enjoying the game by not having all the endgame Coil gear and weapons.

It's perfectly fair to have some gear that is exclusive to raids. In fact, the way SE has done things is more than fair, as they have previously made it so that BiS gear is a mixture of raid gear and tome gear, ensuring that everyone can have at least a few pieces that are BiS. No doubt they will eventually do what they did in 2.5 and 2.55 and introduce non-raid ways to get the upgrades the way they did with WoD and the carbontwines/carboncoats/tomestones.

I just freshly become 60 a day before 3.05 patch and didn't tried Law and primal gear, yet the Esoteric gear comes with more better stats than Law gear. So...

Now the Law gear is only for glamour? :/

You have 12 other jobs to gear

And for your main job even for a full Esoteric set that would take months due to 450 per week restriction. To be exact, that would be the 15th week if you want a full set of Esoteric including weapon.

This game doesnt feel like a Final Fantasy game at all. Or atleast it hasnt since 1.0
