Thinking about transferring to Balmung for the RP

Hi!

I've read a lot of recommendations for Balmung RP wise but I really don't want to start over so I was thinking of transferring from Malboro to here. Is there anything I need to know about transferring from non-legacy to legacy? Or is it pretty much cut and dry like normal transfers other then I cannot use the character on a non-legacy server any more?

We're pondering transferring to Balmung from Gilgamesh for the same reason. I've wondered if we'd be locked on it afterwards.

Legacy servers are just left over from 1.0. It means players who played the first version of FFXIV started on them. Originally the wouldn't let players transfer to legacy servers due to economy imbalances, but that restriction has been removed.

As for RP, yes, there is a lot of RP events and lots of RP out in the open in Balmung. Check out http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/
