Any one noticed that there are 13 types of Esoterics gear which meant that 1 for each of the 13 jobs, but Gordian gears from Alex Savage will be shared as per usual?

Esoterics is basically the next level of AF.
Its armour only tho, not accesories
Yes, armor only.
Inventory space aside, not sure if this is intended.
Unable to cross use meant that SE will make your gearing for Savage not as easy when it comes to group composition.
DRK/WAR/PLD, WHM/SCH/AST, SMN/BLM, BRD/MCH cannot switch freely to adapt to strategies per turn because Esoterics are unique to each job.
You will be forced to lock on to one Job as a result.
Seeing as Esoterics did end up being the new AF sets this was to be expected.
The Alex Savage gear isn't locked. It isn't optimal but if you gain that you can switch between jobs (all except the poor melee).
That said, I would have thought the crafted gear would be a good entry gear for savage but it looks not. I mean, maybe for some dps pieces but you'll be losing vitality. I guess we will have to see how savage these savage turns are on healers. Also, no crafted accessories it seems yet for battle jobs (atleast at i180 or above). The crafted gear is only on par with the upgraded law gear. If you fully materia it it's decent though. I think most savage groups will want their members starting out in mostly all alex normal/esoteric....
I mean there are plus sides but it's just boring for crafters :/ I guess I can gear my alts atleast... But even that, I'll probably just farm alex normal... lol
You probably shouldn't have expectations on battle class crafted. Yoshi-P made it clear that he doesn't want to see a repeat of FCoB, and the clear lack of crafted accessories (for you to abuse VIT) is one big signal.
The ilv 110 crafted accessories came months after FCoB.
Iirc, FCoB was patch 2.4 and crafted accessories, 2.5.
The crazy worlds first raiders had ilv90 accessories penta-melded, and the (at the time, new) ilv110 crafted left-side gear, probably also penta-melded.
Nothing really has changed.
Unfortunately it doesn't work this way now. Sec stats weighs less right now and it is just almost all about main stat and IL. IL150 are way far back and probably only have use for Tanks. The ilv 110 accessories came months after FCoB.

Don't forget about increased stat caps. If you really want to max out the benefits of those accessories you are going to need Grade V materias. At Grade IV you are probably going to be just melding Vitality alone.
It worked previously because you are only melding 1-2 slots for Vit and the rest on secondary stats. You don't have that kind of luxury now.

Yea but he has done it twice already... But just delayed it seems. When 2.0 came out, the crafted accessories were available right away. Second coil I don't believe we had them(edit: no we got them later). Third coil they were back in a new version.
But you are absolutely right, that's what people use them for, vitality. Well, correction, that's the 2nd most popular use. First most popular use is for warrior/dark knights to have accessories that lets them off tank and do dps. But yea, second most is people that want more hp. In the end though, when people get tome/drop gear they don't use them for the most part. They are overall a stat loss because the crafted has never been better than the top end gear (nor should it be).
But my expectations for battle class crafted were left side, not accessories. I expect however that accessories will come out later, after people had a few weeks to try at savage without vit accessories to give them a boost and most people already have better accessories. Then people that aren't winning at savage can get the "nerf" to savage by picking up some.
It's just a shame that the crafted battle armor isn't very desirable. I'm not speaking from a desire to wear it myself. I'm speaking from a sales perspective. :P I like crafting things. I probably won't get many requests at this point.
