Is the RP on Balmung really as awesome as everyone says?

I see random people RPing quite a bit when I'm going through the starter towns. Was doing fates once and there was this whole group of people doing some RP event or other.

Nice. Sounds like Balmung will be right up my alley. We're planning to transfer sometime this week.
