Nothing changed pretty much. Still will be massive mp issues, still no emergency healing. Cards still are random as hell, and nocturnal stance is still worthless compared to diurnal.

What! Guys this changes everything! Ewer, lightspeed, spread and shuffle AND more regen on CU.. Can't wait to try them out
We got some nice buffs that where badly needed in my opinion.
Lightspeed now works as an "oh shit button", Spire and Ewer cards are way better as a refresh instead of mp/tp reduce and i also like the changes on the card mechanics.
CU still is mostly useless i think that spell is FF14 Lightwell, let's just move on.
I still hope that after data of Alex savage comes in they'll take a look at Nocturnal sect because in it's current form it's basically useless.
Very happy with the changes!
Yea pretty content with the changes![]()
Not joking, its pretty good imo
Having to re-learn the RR combos is a minor annoyance. I'm annoyed at the switch mainly because in 4-man content the expanded RR buff is useless on most cards, and ewer and spire were great fodder for RR extended buff. They made Spear better fodder in 4-man content. Most people use The arrow off the bat anyway its that good (but means less chance to get extended buff, would you sacrifice arrow for extended buff?), so that doesn't bother me too much. Then again they made Ewer and spire much better which means they are less fodder. This is going to make deciding what to RR much harder. RRing a ewer or spire is still a no brainer in 8-man content though i guess.
Arrow and Spear both affect cooldowns. Related to time.
They should have interacted with Royal Road in this revised manor since the beginning.
It also amplifies the Spear card to be the Royal Roaded card 100% of the time.
An extended Bole is way better than an AoE Bole.
And the Ewer/Spire cards are much more sought after in prolonged fights.
Did I miss something? Lightspeed still activates the global cooldown. So it's not really an emergency "oh shit" button, because you're essentially getting heals out at the same speed. If anything, you should be using it on cooldown to conserve mana now. Oh, or saving it if you need to cure while moving. My point is, the only emegency heal we have is Essential Dignity.
I probably never use RR on arrow card now. If i drop this card ill use spread if available or ill use it on someone. 95% of the extended time card will be with spear now :/ Anyway i like the RR switch effect because it is oriented to a 8-man party imo.Having to re-learn the RR combos is a minor annoyance. They could literally add 100 potency to each of AST spells and it still wouldn't be stronger than other classes. Astrologian has way worse skills than a level 50 WHM and SCH.
Just think about how Nocturnal does less healing than a Scholar without Pet, and how diurnal also has less potency than WHM.
Heck, they could make CU a 1000y radius, and it still would be worse than Sacred Soil. The regen effect would be nice (because no MP cost) but the radius is so small that you cant tanks and dps in it, and with the raid mechanics as they are, there is no situation where you could even use it for more than 2 ticks.
You would do more DPS with a Scholar + Bard, because Scholars can actually DPS way better than AST (Fairy, Energy Drain, Shadowflare, etc) without losing out on healing.
