I was going to continue playing this game...

Until I realized that I'm going to be gouged to buy a licence for the Mac version. I've been playing WoW for almost 10 years and have been very happy with it (obviously). I started playing this recently because a couple of my friends have been playing and talked me into coming over.

I was really liking the game and even bought the collectors edition on PC. However I play games primarily on my Mac and had thought that once the client was available I could just use the same licence to play on PC or Mac (the same way as about 99% of games that are able to be played with both including WoW).

I however have decided I will not be paying again for the option of playing the game on my Mac. I regret having paid $45 for the collectors edition but I will not be paying monthly for a game that nickels and dimes me for playing on my system of choice.

Hope you eventually correct this Square Enix.

You know MAC Support is always 2nd rate cuz....who would own a mac srsly....(a bit trolling cuz bored)

You have to buy another License because the MAC Code had Conflicts with the normal XIV Version, dont ask me what happened. So they needed to make a "special MAC" Edition. This costs Money...and they want that Money back...

Your fault for having a Mac as a gamer lol... That doesn't even make sense. They are more expensive, run less stuff, and really pointless to buy unless you need a computer to hold your hand through everything. They are great computers for old people and maybe graphic designers.

Can't you run Windows on your Mac?

It's a doubly strange choice since the Mac client appears to be the Windows client with an emulation layer wrapped around it. I've got a high-end MacBook and the Mac client is so bad I've requested a refund so I can get the Windows version of Heavensward and continue playing in Boot Camp.

It's my fault for buying a game that has to gouge people for clients instead of just charging for Subs. Not to mention it's pretty crazy that you have to register for the forums when you're already registered with an account.

As a game developer, I can tell you that dealing with anything Apple is like drilling your hand to a block of wood and then trying to type with it. That company makes even the littlest things a pain to work with. Not saying they have bad products (a little pricey for what you're getting, but meh), but while it's very user-friendly, it's not fun to work with.

Your fault is trying to play a game with a subpar System. I always wondered why didnt Mac already died out. It plainly sucks in so many Aspects...

Don't really have an answer for you about the Mac/PC issue, though I'm pretty sure that somewhere during the ordering process for the PC game there were notes to the effect that it would only run on PC and not on other platforms--Mac, PS3, PS4. Not all games are like WoW.

Again, not all games are like WoW and not all sites are like Battle.net. RIFT is the same way as it is here. Even though I have the game and an account (which I had before the game went F2P so I had a sub), I had to register to use the forums. Perhaps Blizzard is the odd one out here? Just a thought!

different user agreement for the forums. and they aren't gouging any one if you wish to see it that way you do not see the value in SE working to make a mac version and expect them to give it away for free. They gave Ps3 users the chance to upgrade to ps4 for free when the new console version was ready. But that is due to sony compensating them for that. If you want to choose to play on Mac go ahead and do so. if you want to make you mac have windows as well ill be happy to help you get a key for 7 or 8 for under 20 USD. but SE has done nothing wrong to ask you to purchase a mac version if you perfer to play on that platform.

    Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.
