Astrologean: unlock heaven gates does anything?

I am a astrologean in the making and while i enjoy the class quests, do they actually do anything when you unlocked those gates to heaven?
I thought you would slowly be introduced to those cards 1 by 1 but since you get them all in the start are those quests for story/lore purpose only?

Yeah, they are just for lore, as you have access to all of the cards from the beginning. Would've been more logical to unlock the cards one by one, but then you'd only have Bole when starting out if I remember correctly.

I think they were originally gonna make use unlock the cards that way but then realized that starting out with less cards was actually better then unlocking more, seeing as you'd have a higher probability to draw a card you needed.

I noticed you can actually see all of those constellations in the sky flying around at night, since those starts are different colors...I am not sure though if it's only after you unlock that you see them.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Lore-wise it's much better if you only had access to the cards whose heavens you've unlocked, but gameplay-wise it would've made the job both boring and predictable when starting out.
