Seph is right though - if there is any exclusive items at all rewarded only to a group of all people from the same company, you will see people refuse to take anyone not a member of the right company. No matter which company that happens to be, it will end up being a bad thing.
HAHAHAHA
nice thread![]()
According to the Translation of an interview from the newest issue of Connect on, having all three companys in a party will get you the same benefits as having a party with only one company allegiance.
Translation by our very own Reinheart^~^
Grand Company
- There isn't much difference on which country you enlist in, just varies in how the event is viewed (cut scene)
- To avoid one country getting too much enlistment, making it so depending on number of enlistee the company bonus changing.
- It doesn't mean you can't switch (grand company) later on, later we are looking to adding "Free Company" where you can join optionally
- When everyone from same company you get bonus as well as when you have 3 different countries grand company members
- Adding a content where you can obtain company seals over time, however if you don't get a higher rank the amount (CS) you obtain will not increase.
- Rank: Once obtaining award, must take a test to rank up, currently it's hard to go higher than warrant officer?
- after 1.20 be able to trade company seals for chocobo gear, planning to release in future chocobo gear which crafters can make.
- If you work hard in grand company it will effect in Lodestone
We need something EXTRA for Limsa and Gridania as well. Focusing all in Thanalan isnt the right idea I guess. It will let all ppl let be in one place again instead of usage of game world.
Same goes for "grand company only" party bonus. I best most of ppl will join uldah and LL and Grid will stay a bit off once again.
Guess I missed a thread earlier:
From the Japanese patch notes:
なお、「イフリート討伐戦」では同じグランドカンパニーメンバーのみで構成されたパーティで挑むと報酬にボーナスが追加されます。
That's the sentence about better rewards everyone's talking about.「イフリート討伐戦」 is the part that's over the r30 Ifrit fight. No where in that sentence does 真イフリート討滅戦 appear, which is the part over the r50 fight. So, I think it's safe to say that the reward difference is only for the low-level version.
The Japanese patch notes specifically list that only under the r30 version?Guess I missed a thread earlier:

If that's the case then it's probably a certainty that it's more seals or exp.
Pretty self explanatory, but I'd imagine you'd get the same supply of bonus reward if you had a party of 4-8 where they were a full mix of all 3 GC's, as well as parties consisting entirely of 1 GC. That just means if you're building an 8 player party and you have 3 Maelstrom and 4 Immortal Flames, you'd just need 1 Twin Adders to get the bonus, so that's not so bad.- When everyone from same company you get bonus as well as when you have 3 different countries grand company members
However then you might have people turning down a perfectly good party member just because they don't have the one company the group needs. I think the devs need to clarify this right away. I can understand why they would put such a system in however all it does is force people to go with the majority for the best bonuses. People should join a company because it's the one they want to, not because they'll be shunned from parties without it.Pretty self explanatory, but I'd imagine you'd get the same supply of bonus reward if you had a party of 4-8 where they were a full mix of all 3 GC's, as well as parties consisting entirely of 1 GC. YAY for more Complaining Threads over a little higher amount of Company Seals. lol
