SE should just delete LL and Grid

So the patch notes show that SE has just further centralized Ul'dah.

In addition to most new quests starting there or in Thanalan -- including all materia-related content -- they have the only NPC who can remove materia.

Also there's the "greater rewards when all members are from the same grand company" bit for Bowl of Embers. What's the incentive to join any other grand company? Immortal Flames will be the only option if you want good rewards from Ifrit. And I assume this will be a common practice?

I was personally hoping to join LL but now it seems LL and Grid are just the lesser cousins of Ul'dah.

i think you missing a point: you don't get good reward from ifrit, but good+better if on the same company, whatever that "better" could mean. Join whatever company you want, you'll not be gimped on drops

I've been playin FF MMOs to understand the mentality of most players.

A day after darkhold was released, shouts were "Darkhold run, CON, ARC can I have it?"

Now it'll be "Ifrit run, Immortal Flames CON, ARC can I have it."

My linkshell has been awesome about going against the grain when it comes to ideal set ups, but if it takes 8 people of the same GC to get something, then that's what will enter when it comes time to get specifically those items. Which means if I go with the Mealstrom, I'm locked out of those rewards. Because, let's face it, pick up groups rarely win these kind of events. That's why we have linkshells in the first place, so that we can familiarize ourselves with fellow players to increase our odds of winning.

Really? People need to grow up and stop freaking out at the first sign of anything that could be seen as negative. It SOUNDS like it might be bad but we won't know until the patch hits. I hope they reconsider the bonus thing as well but I think people need to calm down and quit freaking out prematurely over what could be nothing.

Funny, most people in my LS want to join Gridania. Us Ul'dahns are in the minority.

I think I will be moving to Gridania. I encourage everyone to go where they want and not let this inhibit you going elsewhere or we will reinforce the behavior.

Please think of this choice as a way of defining your character and role you wish to take in the land of Eorzea.

Just like nation allegiance in FFXI (Although later opened up), the city you chose helped define that character.

materia npc is in thanalan because the Lore says so, something about goblins (Mutamix is a goblin) and Ul'Dah

they cant put him in Gridania just to spread ppl, while conflicting their story :/
