PS4 Mouse and Keyboard Lag?? Makes playing difficult...

Has anyone else experienced mouse and keyboard lag with the PS4 version of FFXIV?? I started off with a cheap keyboard and mouse, but when those lagged I went all out and got an $80 keyboard and $80 mouse thinking it was just the quality of the product I was using... but nope!

I am only low level but it makes playing difficult, both solo and grouping. I ran a dungeon as a healer and did great, but the next round I died because of the lag. It's very frustrating. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? If not I need to take my keyboard and mouse back... that's $160! I really want to play FFXIV but not with a controller. I RP and like the social aspect of MMOs. Which is why I went with this over ESO - keyboard/mouse support.

It's not even full on lag. Sometimes it works great, then out of nowhere my character stops running because the keyboard had a split second lag. When I move my mouse back and forth it just stops for a split second and then keeps going. It's too unreliable to play a game with (or, at least, play a game well).

Oh, and I also thought that my PS4 was too far away but it doesn't matter how close I am.

Help??? Anyone else experience this? Thanks!

(edit: WIRELESS mouse and keyboard. Logitech k800 keyboard and Logitech Anywhere 2.0 mouse. But cheaper quality items experienced the same result.

Is the mouse and keyboard wired or wireless?

Playing on a TV? Could be display latency.

I've got a nice Logitech wired keyboard and it still lags just enough to where I can't use it to play with. Have to just use it for typing.

I had slight lag when I used bluetooth keyboard, very annoying. Now I use a wired usb keyboard and it's perfect.

In terms of the mouse I do think it's slight latency because of the TV.

Is there anything that might interfering with the signal, if so. Anything directly between the PS4 and your mouse/keyboard?

I thought about that, but don't you have to pick keyboard/mouse OR controller play? I didn't think you could do both?

If it is with wired products, too... Well bummer. (I couldn't used wire ones anyways... my cats would have too much fun lol)

But everything else displays fine and no lag? Even watching movies wirelessly on my laptop to the TV. It's a new smart tv.

Nope. Tried that. Nothing blocking it. Even when I'm just inches from PS4 - same thing. Distance doesn't matter either.

Other games work fine? (Movies don't count since they aren't interactive. :P)

If so I have no idea. Maybe file a bug report to SE about it.

Can use controller plus keyboard for typing! Just can't use kb/m layout

TV's have a greater delay in external input. This is pretty much never going to be noticeable unless using a keyboard and mouse with it. You can reduce this lag by creating a custom picture/image profile that enables reduced input lag. Most often this is by starting off the custom profile from the pc or computer profile. The exacts of how to do this will vary from TV to TV, so I suggest doing some research your specific make of TV.
