Everyone will hate me for saying this but I'm going to present it this way.
While everyone screams I have a solution...I'm not even saying I agree with this. I'm saying here's equality and opportunity. 1st quest to kill Ifrit and victory you get your reward choose 1 of 7 pieces of Ifrit weapons...you'll only ever get 1 piece of it so make your best choice. Diversity and equality for all...now feel free to kill Ifrits for whatever other loots he may drop, seals or gil you may earn etc.
Whilst that's a nice idea everyone can play every class so picking one weapon locks you out of ever getting another of them if ever you decide to play another class. Not such a good idea.Everyone will hate me for saying this but I'm going to present it this way.

I know...I'm just saying people are so uptight about maybe having to work a little harder for one piece of being in a different GC.
Because there's an equal share of people wanting 'easy mode' as there is people wanting 'hard mode'. I think they should all shut up complaining about 'this bit' and 'that bit' and just let SE do their thing. If they don't like what SE give them, they can either - 1: deal with it, or 2: go play one of the other few hundred MMO's on the market.

Well complaints can be good to a certain extent. If none of us complained about XIV at/prior to launch, we wouldnt be where we are now.Because there's an equal share of people wanting 'easy mode' as there is people wanting 'hard mode'. A better solution (If people need it too be so easy) Is treat it like the ToAU rings and whatnot, make the fight repeatable and require that you defeat ifirit with the class you want your weapon to be. Give it a week timer or so, so people don't switch weapons every 12 seconds.
If they were going for a "You fight it you get loot" scenario, instead of locking you out at the first win.
Ul'dah is already the spot to be and will be the number one GC. Don't be stupid about it and join the damn nation!! Why does everyone make it seem so much worse then it is >< It will be like Campaign Battle in FFXI, All other nations but Sandy suck.

Later, if Ishgard is open and the Garleans move forward the new hot spot would be on the front in Gridania.

All hail the Royal Elvaan!
