As much as i disagree with this idea, I am curious to see how it plays out. Everyone seems to think everyone will flock to one GC, which may happen, but is uldah even going to be as important with instant travel to citys? I for one am going to stick with Twin Adders, and if i have to group up with other adders to get the best loot....so be it.

As for linkshells this move kind of sucks, but i could see same GC LS popping up in the near future.....

This is a combination of Appealing to Extremes and a Slippery Slope argument. Both are fallacies.

You have no data that shows that you 'can't get anything decent' because of this. But that doesn't stop you from projecting even further harm from potential patches later on. There's no logical validity to such an argument.

Its called the worst case scenario, which means looking at the worst possible outcome of somthing, in this case the worst case scenario of choosing a GC entirely on speculation is not being able to do somthing and the only solution is quit, reroll or not do anything. While it may be the least possible outcome it is a possibility which is why I would like to know, I would not care if I could change company but being locked into your initial choice makes us need official confirmation.

Thinking of the worst case scenario makes you not do anything rash, you should try it sometime.

Oh, I certainly do. Risk Aversion is part of my career. But you should label such things 'worse case scenario' instead of positing them as 'likely scenario.' And re-rolling is a little extreme, I mean, c'mon.

Do people here really think the Devs would make it so that only certain groups could get the most desired drops? Do you think they are stupid? And if they were dumb enough to make that mistake, you don't think they would patch it after it was revealed - in-game, not through bitching in forums - that this is a real issue? I dont know much kanji, but that is Chūtohanpa isnt it? then I believe it would directly translate as incomplete, or halfway.

I wish to clarify this--

Scenario Party 1:
Member 1: GC is Uld'ah
Member 2: GC is Uld'ah
Member 3: GC is Uld'ah
Member 4: GC is Uld'ah

Result: Party is entirely the same grand company, and therefore receives bonus (A)

Scenario Party 2:
Member 1: GC is Uld'ah
Member 2: GC is Gridania
Member 3: GC is Limsa Lominsa
Member 4: GC is Uld'ah

Result: Party represents at least 1 member of every grand company, and therefore recieves bonus (B)

Scenario Party 3:
Member 1: GC is Uld'ah
Member 2: GC is Uld'ah
Member 3: GC is Gridania
Member 4: GC is Gridania

Result: Party represents at least 1 member of 2 grand companies, but not all 3, and therefore recieves bonus (C)


Questions:

Does Bonus A = Bonus B?
Do both Bonus A and B yield unique, special results?
Does Bonus C exist, or is this combination the exception to the rule?
