Considering that guy isn't even the OP, and he's pretty chill about the whole maint thing (hell, honestly, everyone in this thread is), your reply was pretty unnecessary. (I'd suggest actually reading the thread before assuming people need to just 'deal with it')

I kind of assumed the timing of second maintenance is more of a planned emergency maintenance for savage Alexander. There is bound to be something broken that they didn't calculate, and would probably require a maintenance after a day or two.
Instead of "surprising" people with the emergency maintenance, they intentionally planned to release 3.05 in two updates, and will use the second maintenance to fine-tune savage alex for whatever problem may appear. Crafting just happens to be the thing they decided to postpone.
It's only practical in this business to expect an unexpected problem, and prepare in advance for dealing with it. It's the reason we keep fire extinguishers in buildings.
inb4 it's their game and they can do whatever they want with it, will maintenance cause you to quit? if so good, if not, then plan ahead.
Speculation~! But a valid point, though still speculation.
That being said, they've surprised us plenty of times with emergency maint before -_o
Earlier in the thread there was another guy telling us that they'd split up maint in 2 parts because of the download size. Unless we're on SE's tech team, we'll never know why they chose this route.
@ Adventica: I'm not sure if you're trying to be funny~ It's tough to gauge your tone :3 That being said, I'll clarify: No one's mad here XD, no one's bitter, threatening to quit. Honestly we're super chill about the whole thing. COOL LIKE CUCUMBERS!
But we do think that lately, maint has been a little... more often.

Get over it.
^.^
These threads always pop up, and there's always selfish people that don't understand the complaint... you know why? because those people don't get hit by the maintenance. If you have nothing nice to say or contribute to the thread apart from "get over it" or "plan ahead" or "someone will always get hit, deal with it" then don't say anything at all?
"someone will always get hit" is a false statement, you should say "the same people will always get hit" because that's exactly what's happening... but nobody cares because the masses aren't affected. Now you could say, how is that SE's fault? they are tying to avoid the biggest group.... why does that matter? are NA players somehow above me? just because of their timezone?
What about us? all those Oceanic players, JP players, Night Shift American players? this is OUR prime time and it's ALWAYS scheduled at the same bloody time, every 2-3 days it's the same announcement over and over
Hi! enjoying the game? just finished work? here's a 4 hour maintenance because we made a typo somewhere, thanks for your money.

When I made the post, it was more of a heads up for the folks like me who will be affected by it, and in another aspect, a statement to SE as to why we needed two different days to do implement patch/fixes when a single longer maintenance would likely have sufficed and kept them from taking an additional day away from the folks who can only play during this time slot.
At any rate, as other have said, most of us are cool with it, myself included, we are just acknowledging the fact that its getting excessive.
That being said, let's calmly and politely discuss the topic, shall we?
In the mean time, what do you all have planned to do for the double maintenance blocks?
I said earlier I'd do a Harry Potter marathon. Started a bit early and already finished the 1st movie ^^;

Most likely they diverted time from crafter/gatherer stuff final checks to polish Savage and maybe change normal.
Anything critical that is found first day of Savage can be quick fixed for the other maintenance as well.
People seem to forget that we're still in the initial release phase of Heavensward. I'm pretty confident that the amount of maintenance between patches post 3.1 will be dramatically lower. At the moment there are still a few glaring issues with the expansion that need sorting, and I for one am happy they're doing more maintenances to fix/change stuff instead of waiting months for the next major patch.
At the end of the day, shit happens.
