Only 3 per allotment on a super long timer is sort of sad.

Really? I find we have piles of leves...
If you are crafting I can see the issue since leveling without leves is a huge time sink compared to DoM and DoW. I would suggest for any none gathering/crafting skill do fates or dungeons to level and leave leves for the crafting/gathering. It builds up fast enough if you switch between the two (also it might have to do with I do one or the other not both in a day).
Just boost the x10 leves <,<
They are totaly worthless....
x10 leves quest = around same XP as 3-4 leves
Yeah, I can't figure out why they have "Craft one X, get (say) 200k XP, pay one leve" and "Craft three X, get 600k exp, pay 10 leves". It takes the EXACT SAME amount of effort to craft the three items, since they are invariably the same items from the single leve missions, you pay more for no gain. It would make much more sense to be "Craft three X, get 900k exp, pay 10 leves". I thought temple leves were supposed to boost people with lots of leves and less time, thus willing to burn leves for an exp boost, but then being able to move on to something else that day.
Actually, that example would be an improvement over where things stand at the moment. Compare the following two leve quests:
Like Lemon on a Lumbercut (L): Carpenter, Lv. 54
Costs: 10 leve allowances
Requires: 5 dark chestnut lumber
Rewards: 78624 EXP, 994 Gil, potential crystal rewards
Walking on Pins and Needles: Carpenter, Lv. 54
Costs: 1 leve allowance
Requires: 5 dark chestnut lumber
Rewards: 78624 EXP, 794 Gil, potential crystal rewards
The same EXP, for the same materials, despite one using 10 allowances and one using only a single allowance.
Do the crafting x10 ones even offer random drops for turning in for accessories like the battle ones do? Even then it wouldn't be worth it til 60.
I agree, but I also disagree. Since 3.0 I've not had my leve allowance in double figures, I keep using the lil buggers, but with them being on such a long timer, and you only getting three, you're a lot more likely to aim for HQ turn ins (twice the XP) to maximise your return. If we were handed leves on a platter, we'd just burn through them. Once we're done and have all the jobs at 60 (won't take too long), the leve allowance will be stuck at 100 until they offer rewards that we need or can use, so, I figure it should stay as it is, even if it is an annoyance.
My guess for the Large leves is that they exist for players like me who got everything to level 50 well over a year ago. I would often have 100 leve allowances saved up, and felt bad that I wasn't spending them. There are achievements and things, so I would try to spend a few, but burning 100 leves is a lot harder than it sounds when there isn't a leveling reward. Now when that occasion arises, I can cut my leve allowance in half with only 5 attempts.
Large leves may also become more relevant in future content. Just as they added special reagents to DoL and DoH level 45 leves, they can now add something special to the large leves in the future.
