I found Doomspike to be more effective, but that's just me since I hate the animation lockdown you get on Chaos.Didn't want to open a new thread just for this question, and seemed relevant here: Post 1.19, Doomspike II or Chaos Thrust?
I keep both on my bar anyways, but Doomspike is just so consistently powerful that I find Chaos Thrust's only edge on it is that it doesn't eat all of your TP. Blindside + Chaos is pretty nice (though auto-crit on Doomspike is nice too), probably moreso if you have a good boost of Savage Might materia.
