on topic, others have already said it in your other two threads, supply and demand.

I'm not intending the house to be just for my wife and I. It's for the entire FC. And if I really work I can turn out a million a day as well. I'm just saying that handing out the HQ items as well as not expanding the housing districts has hurt crafters.

I honestly think it's fine. I used my quests to pick up things for my primary class (Paladin) as well as my secondary class (Scholar) but any classes after that I'll have to either buy the gear around level 55-56 (almost all of my classes are close to BiS from 2.55 with DW/ironworks so I have a good headstart) or rely completely on dungeon drops. Some of the pieces are still going for hundreds of thousands despite all of the quests giving out HQ gear. I ended up spending around 400k for a set of HQ level 56 left side gear for my Black Mage once I was starting to outgrow the old gear. What can I say? I've had horrendous luck with the dungeon drops.
I'm actually really glad that they put the quests out there so that the gear for leveling isn't going for millions of gil, which would just lead to a bunch of undergeared people making dungeons miserable because not everyone can afford that. I don't think anyone should be forced to level crafting just so they can equip their character properly while they level it. Honestly, I haven't had any problem at all making money on the market board.
As far as the furniture goes, that stuff will spike across the board when the housing wards do go in.
As far as your other 2 points, I won't use more posts from my allotment to respond to duplicate threads. Sorry. :/

Wow. that really helped a lot.To summarize, in the game’s current state, the limited item level range for available gear means that many players are able to meet their needs with gear obtained in the course of leveling. Crafted gear remains useful for only a short period of time, resulting in low demand on the markets.
We are aware that this is especially true for weapons, with relic weapons becoming a sort of standard.
These issues will eventually be dealt with by raising the level cap, but crafters need not wait that long for change. Patch 2.1 will see the addition of the Wolves’ Den and the Housing system, and the services of crafters will be in high demand for both PvP-related items and furnishings.

Making furniture is where the real money is at, but nobody is buying furniture. Makes sense.

Rare furniture does go for quite a bit, but it's rare for a reason. Carbuncle desk, Garuda couch, etc, all goes for hundreds of thousands of gil - but good luck getting the crafting material for less than the selling price of the item.

So, just consolidating the OP's thoughts for him.
Now we have his entire thought in one place, and more to work with.My wife and I just recently started a new Free Company shortly after Heavensward came out. The problem with this is on my server to buy a mansion costs about 37 million. This is a problem for 2 reasons.
1 No new housing districts were brought in when Heavensward was released. Most of the districts on my server are full with the exception of a few scattered mansion sized plots here and there. What this means is no one is buying much furniture right now and that really hurts considering as any crafter knows... making furniture is where the real money is at.
2 Most of the new quests are giving out high quality gear for completing the quests. Once again hurting the crafting market because usually it's the high quality items that sell best, however if they're all being given away, then they are not really going to go for much on the marketboard and in turn the crafters end up getting hurt again.
What's the point in crafting if you are just going to give away the most powerful gear either in high level dungeons or through tomes that you get for running high level dungeons? Lets be honest here, average player plays about $15 a month to play this game and they run dungeons and do quests and such. I as a crafter on the other hand spend $27 a month so that I can have enough retainers to hold only so that the average player ends up not being interested in buying what it is I make because he's too busy getting the armor from dungeons and tomes and at the end of the day I feel like I spend hours WORKING on getting all my crafts maxed out so that I alone can enjoy my own gear which sadly I end up trading in sooner or later for the best stuff you can get anyways so tell me Square, whats the point? Honestly, there are some days I sit there crafting all day all the time thinking to myself, "I can't believe I'm spending nearly $30 a month for this! They should be paying me!"
My thought was you were starting to get it right in the previous patch. You were handing out rare crafting mats in the dungeons. That to me is fair and how I think it should be. You want the best armor and items in the game? You need to do the dungeons for the rare mats and then craft your items using them... or have someone in your FC craft them... or buy them off the marketboards because at the end of the day if your just going to give the stuff away via quests square, then you might as well just do away with crafting all together because seriously... there's no point.
I'ma go punch that.
