hahaha Reinheart the subligar>maelstrom imo :P haha jp
No it's not a mini-expansion...these are things that should have been in the game to start with. They are actually putting in things to get this to be "modern day release worthy" as opposed to "Yester-year release worthy".
A mini-expansion to me would be something like "Witch Hunts" from Dragon Age Origins. That's a mini expansion...this...this is just bug fixes and the content that should have been in the first place.
Btw, good job SE team. Looking forward to trying it out. You have peaked my interest![]()

Yeah pretty much the next few patches as well will be things that should have been in the game since release.

Didn't take it as an attack. Was having a little fun. In all actuallity I am wierd and a non-conformistThat wasn't meant to be a personal attack on you. I'm just saying that people hang out in Ul'dah because people hang out in Ul'dah. Square Enix not only can't stop that, but they shouldn't try to mess with it. It builds community for people to have a central place to congregate.
While I wouldnt call it a mini-expansion, it certainly is a game changer. Crafting is going to be a whole different ball game for new players. The list of items they are deleting from the game entirely or are no longer used for crafting is gigantic. I also get the impression that we are going to have to spend a great deal MORE time gathering to get the same amount of items as before.
suspect there will be a transition period where you can transfer the applicable items before the inventory slots disappear. If it goes anything like FFXI we will get them back plus some in about 2 years
I saw no mention of LFG update. perhaps the tutorials will really help with people using the party function

Reading these patch notes are like reading "The Lord of the Rings". Everytime I go through them I find something I missed before. After reading them I am almost afraid of the sizes for 1.20 and 1.21. Most of my concerns have been addressed by other posters before me. Only need 1 clarification though <probably overreading>.
Notes say that adding Materia can only be done by Diciples of the Hand. Does this mean just having a DoH item equiped or did you actually have to have selected DoH when you first created youyr character?
Aside from that this is awesome. It will probably take me so much time exploring the new content that I should have a large stockpile of levee credits stored by the time I am done. The live session with Yoshi-P should really be interesting after reading this
