GL trying to find a spot open. Beside that, make it a FC collaboration so as many ppl can participate. Get a garden and airship also a chocobo stable. As for size depending how many member you have or whats the budget.
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

Best tip right now is to wait for the new wards coming, either this update or 3.1 I think.

My tip (and what my FC is doing) is plan ahead and decide which area and which plot. Have the funds saved up and the morning of the patch log on and buy your plot. Almost all are sold out and new wards will be coming "soon". Prolly 3.1 at the earliest.

Okay, there are a bunch of houses open in the Goblet. There's one left in the Mist, and like 10 left in Lavender Beds. If you don't have the gil together, your best bet would to wait as others have suggested. If you have the gil and you were hoping for a plot in the Mists, again, wait. With the upcoming transfer system(mentioned in the live letter, but I'm not sure we'll get it), plots will open up after the patch. If you don't care for location and you have the gil, remember that you buy the plot and then buy the permit to build the house. I /think/ it's 500k for small, 1 mil for medium, and 3 mil for a large. The company workshop for airship building is 800k. There are people selling airship components on Siren, so check the pf often if you're interested. umm....no idea what else I should make mention of. My company is trying to upgrade to a mansion and getting that much gil is hell on us lol.
1.) Decide the size you want.
2.) Decide where you want it.
3.) Ask (not beg) for donation, as the FC leader try to match donation 1:1 ratio in gil. so if everyone donated a total of 10 mil, put in 10 mil out of your pocket, it is you FC after all, and as much as it is nice to say this is for everyone, in the end you still have the most authority out of anyone, unless of course if everyone is your IRL buddies.
Also try to shop for bargain fc plots. You would be surprise how some of the plots are not being utilize, try to whisper the owner see if they would let it go for cheap, the only problem with this is you will need to migrate your entire fc to the other FC, this wouldnt be a problem if you are a small fc, but for anyone who houses 50+ people this method might not be viable.
Anyway that's my tips based on my personal experience.

thank you all for the advice and tips. this will really help a lot.![]()
