Why are there 0 Scrip collectable turn-ins?

So, I just powerleveled my BSM to 60, and was dismayed to find I should have been doing scrips the whole time. I had assumed it would run like law, and you be unable to gather them till 60. That is on me.

That said, I went to look at all my other classes, and they have collectable turn-in items, but they all award zero scrips. What is the point of this? Don't say the EXP, because leves dish out more exp for single items. Am I missing something?

You start earning scrips from level 56+ collectibles, for both DoH and DoL.

Depending on your Allowances and Job, sometimes the Collectibles will be easier to make and gain EXP from. Blacksmith was a challenge for my server because making the later Allowances was a pain in the butt, but I was able to craft Hardsilver Hatchets(20 scripts, 143k EXP) for a cheaper price. You be surprised how fast you rake in EXP just doing these things alone

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

I have to question whether the Devs compared the cost/reward between different crafting classes. Crafting a tool/armor piece with 6 different mats that need to be synthed should not give you the same number of scrips as a recipe that has 3 mats that are all gathered/raw materials. There is more to a recipes difficulty than the progress/quality bar and recipe ilvl.

The crafting balance is all over the place through the leveling curve. You've got one class' set of leves in a given level range asking for relatively reasonable mats while another class' set in the same level range is asking for something two levels above the leve from the master book. Farming scrips as anything but CUL is pretty much burning gil. And then there's the utterly bizarre choices in the class quests themselves; GSM never asks you for an HQ item in a single quest while the last LTW quest asks you to make an HQ 1-star green chestpiece along with all the other HQ stuff every quest on the way there wants. It's like they had ten people designing the leveling road and they never once compared notes.

It also feels like they designed the recipes based on what would materials would realistically make up that product without ever considering at what point in the game these materials because accessible by gatherers and combat classes. I can understand they made it so you basically required flying, a cleared MSQ and a level 60 class to really level your crafters efficiently and I'm fine with that, but even after these things are met the number of mats required for these items vs the quantity they drop in is absurd. I couldn't imagine leveling a LTW without having a leveled combat retainer farming leathers for me. The Draconic potion recipes have 1/3rd the yield and require a hidden emp node, an aetherial reduction mat (so another emp node) and an unspoiled node. Did I mention the boards are flooded with them because of maps?

GSM will probably have BiS combat accessories again. I'd just like to see what their motivation is for designing it this way, assuming any thought was put into it of course.

Sometimes, not often, but sometimes the Collectable turn in is VASTLY easier to gather/make than the current Leve you have available.

I haven't looked into CUL turnins, but of all the others I've seen, GSM has absurdly cheap ones. Dragon Fang Earrings are 1/4th the cost per blue scrip of any other turnin (again, I didn't look at CUL), and Goblin Jigs are 1/2 the cost of the cheapest other one. The earrings take only one crafted mat, and it isn't even an upgraded mat (like ingot or hallowed/holy), it's a nugget, and the jigs are just an ingot and a whetstone mashed together.

I'm all for items having mats that make logical sense, but some things here are beyond that. Like, for the first two weeks of 3.0, every time my wife checked to see what the CUL turnin was (she only cares about CUL), it always required Bullion. Every time. Bullion is only obtainable by paying 40 Blue Scrips for 5 cubes. No other class has to buy items with Blue Scrips to get Blue Scrips... And they still give the same as other classes. So, 8 scrips gets you an item that you can turn in for 20. That's kinda silly, and how do you get started? =\
