New Players Bonus needs to be much higher

When Esoterics come out tomorrow, they will be the weekly capped tomestone and offer some of the best gear in the game. The conversion rates will be much smaller...

We get, what, 160 law right now for doing an expert roulette? 80 for the dungeon and 80 for the bonus? When poetics were relevant, the expert roulette gave us 75 total tomes. 40 for completion and 35 for a bonus. Expect the conversion rates for any Roulette that offers Esoterics to be much smaller than what Law bonuses are giving now. Also, don't expect every roulette to give you Esoterics. It may only be Expert/Hard roulettes that give you any. Maaaaybe Trials, but at a very small rate.

Also, I seriously doubt that new player bonus will award Esoterics in anything, save for possible normal Alexander. I'm doubtful on that one also.

You don't need law at the rate you used to need other tomestones, they've rescaled the entire system. They have increased xp bonuses with most patches and if you're desynthing poetics are great. If the other rewards aren't good enough for you then you're not farming the right way. You have a lot of options to get what you're looking for, which bonuses you get depends on how you farm. Except for expert roulette the only reason the roulettes are there is to ensure new players can clear content. If its not good enough for you find another way to get what you're looking for.

It's fine. You should be thankful they give you anything at all. Don't like it then leave and take the penalty.

I think the issue the OP is worried about is not this, but that the speed-runnin' vets will kick the newbie hoping for another vet replacement and a faster run, because the new player bonus doesn't mathematically measure up to the efficiency of a faster run.

Fortunately, players with the kind of mentality that would endorse this kind of abuse are actually pretty rare. In reality, the reaction to a new player in a dungeon tends to be positive and helpful; players are happy to help out a newbie, and the bonus is simply icing on the cake. You'd never know it by reading all the doom 'n gloom on the forums, though; just as in real life news, folks rarely bother to report GOOD things that happen, just the bad.

Uh... most of them can be do in 20min? Definitely low level and almost all of the lv 50 ones...

I was thinking this included all dungeons, including 50+. I misread the post a bit I think. I think 20-25 minutes is a good run, but s/he said "at most 20 minutes". I dont see too many sub 20 minute runs. Maybe that's just me tho.
