That whole concept fails when you're sitting with a hand of 1-star cards (with maybe a 3 or 5 star tossed in there) so that you play the game taking back what you can and defending your cards properly, then your opponent's last card takes two of yours just based on the fact that he's playing a 4- or 5-star since he can hold more than one of them at a time anyway. In Random, you can play your game perfectly and still lose because you have a handful of shit versus his handful of gold. That's not difficult, nor is it fun. Not even remotely challenging because you know you can't win. It's just as it's been said before. You're actually punished by having more cards to pull from. And even the NPCs' AI is weak enough that you can pretty well predict exactly what card he's going to play when. So you know that as you're playing he's going to take your 1-star with what 3-star because, well... reasons, and even if you follow that up with your own combo chances are that he'll just finish you off to a draw because your random cards are like paper to his scissors.
