I don't like how it punishes you for getting a lot of low star cards. Getting new cards should always be a good thing, but random makes getting low star cards a bad idea. If you have 60 cards random should give you 1 random 5 tar card and 4 random 3 star cards. Yes it's still random but not unfair.

I disagree. Random is pretty much the ONLY thing that makes NPC battles anything other than faceroll easy. Even WITH the rule, I still win over half my battles against NPCs.

Because NPCs draw upon a very small pool of cards and because their AI is so predictable, it's easy to build a counterdeck and predict their strategies for easy win after easy win. Random is the only way that you'll ever have to STRUGGLE for your win. When I farmed Gaius from the Imperial and Lightning from Tataru, the former was a boring grind and the latter was actually kinda fun, no question.

And, for those who complain that it's just too hard when you wind up with four 1-star cards against the NPC's powerhouse deck, remember you only need to take ONE more card than the opponent does. Lay out your 1-star cards in such a way that when the computer inevitably takes one, you can take it back with another 1-star. Don't bother trying to take the computer's cards; you won't be able to unless you're very lucky. Focus on taking back the cards the computer takes from you. You can remain evenly matched against the computer until the end, when you can drop the one "power" card you're usually issued in a random. And, when your "power" card isn't powerful? You'll generally still be able to manage a draw.

This strategy actually works well even in non-random decks, against NPCs that have decks full of multiple 4- and 5-star cards while you're stuck with one 5-star and the rest 3-star. Play out your 3-stars so that you can take them back when the computer trounces them, and save your trump to tip the balance.

It's like the nearly all the NPCs in Heavensward PUNISH you for having more cards.

They need to adjust the NPC decks like they were set up in FFVIII.

FFVIII NPC: "Okay, random rule...I'll pull out all these low level cards and MAYBE that card I have you really want."

There was no "always going to be these awesome cards" BS, the cards were ALWAYS random in FFVIII's Triple Triad when the random rule was up. They need to do that here too. Random should be random for everybody, including the NPCs.

I hate random, and its not because it hard it can just be extremely unfair/obnoxious. Nps have what 8 cards max(?) in total. And 1 or 2 are always the same card when playing them. And usally the Random nps have like all 3 star+ cards. Your bound by the TT card deck rules even in random. so if you have less than 30 card your probably going to lose get all 1 stars and maybe 1 2star+ card. The chances oviusly incress each time you incress the star amout use can use unlimited for you to win, but your still at the mercy of RNG if youll get a set drawn that can actually win.
I think the best way to make this better is for the Npcs that have Random to have a bigger set of cards they can have when playing agest them, like 15 or 20. That way it dousnt feel like your fighting the same small set of good/great cards the npcs has with your random that chooses between the amount of card you have.
Right now it just feels like the rule only effects you and not the Npc so it just gets obnoxius, i still challeng them as i want the cards they have but it just can feel very annoying when RNG loves to hate you.

If you've gone through the grind of beating NPCs like Rowena and Landenel time and time again, along with Chaos rule NPCs like Swift, you definitely have a fitted hate built up for the unfavored rules (by players). Dealing with it even more in Heavensward is just... well, simply put, I don't expect to bother with it... ever lol. Generally speaking, Random is not a BAD rule... when played fairly. In other words, they're good/fun rules against other players. Against NPCs, where their deck extends to around 6 cards, of which most, if not all of their cards break the rules by being 4-star and higher, this is not even remotely considered "fun". I get that they want to extend the lifespan of activity with TT, but it should never really be much more than players thought it would be. Just something fun to do on the side. RNG in this game is ridiculously clustered, and relying on it to be on your side is extremely self-destructive and naive. In other words, Random rule with NPCs only serves to force losses on you. Why is that considered a good idea?

Honestly there's not ever a good reward for getting to 90+ cards (yay another card?) , and nothing for catching them all so there's not even really a point. It is just as easy to farm the imperial/king for points with 60 cards as it is with 100 cards. SHAME

TT was kind of dead on arrival.

Once the fun of the "new" wore off, you realized it was lackluster rewards and punishing, unfair mechanics to grind against so you could get more cards and a title. Add that to a "tournament" that is dominated by cheaters every week and, just, no thanks anymore.

    I lol'ed

Please elude us how to build a deck with random? Nothing personal but your logic doesn't even make sense.

This calls to memory a particular person who's consistently ranked #1 on Excalibur with several hundred points above #2 even when not having 45/45 wins. C'mon Excalibur, you know who it is!
