Hey,
I just unlocked both summoner and scholar and to be honest I am not happy with either, I prefer to just stick with being an arcanist.
Just wanted to know whats people opinions? Which class would you pick/prefer and why?

"In the name of the moon I will punish you" - Sailor Moon
If you want to tank, go sch. lolEos
If you want to tank, go smn. Titan Egi
If you want to dps, go both. Why not both?
If you want to heal, go sch. muh shieldz.
Hum, the Summoner is basically an upgraded Arcanist, I don't see why you don't like it if you like the Arcanist.
The Scholar is different, it's a healing job, if you like to heal go ahead, if you don't, play the Summoner or change to another job.
Even if you intend to stay an Arcanist, you won't be accepted in dungeons, trials and such. The DF doesn't care, I meant that nobody would play with you and you'll get kicked almost every run.
But do as you like.
I'm just going to say this now to save you some grief in the future. Not taking a Job and sticking to a base class is not a real option, it's a noob trap.
SCH is a healer capable of some DPS through DoTs. SMN is a DPS class. So pick the role that interests you the most. Honestly though as you level one, you are also leveling the other since they share the arcanist class as their base. As in, if you get to 60 on SMN, you will have a 60 SCH as well.
Summoner is basically arcanist.... Not sure how you can like one and hate the other. Sticking with arcanist is just asking for trouble. Scholar Is a healer
Also SMN adds the int bonus with the soul stone, which will make ACN quiet gimp damage wise without the job.
But yeah as others said before, it depends if you want to heal or dps, scholar is a healer (that can dps yes, but its main role is healer) and summoner is a dps. You can always play both and see which fits you better, but bare in mind the stat allocation, since SMN will be int, and SCH mnd.
First unlock both. SCH is a healer and SMN is a damage dealer. Just depends on what you want to do.
Apple and Oranges really.
SMN is a damage dealer while SCH is a healer.
ACN -> SMN, you lose most of your cross-class skills save BLM and ARC but gain other SMN specific abilities.
ACN isn't really usable at Lv 60 due to lacking important abilities you get only as SMN.
If you just want the Carbuncles, just wait until they patch in pet glamour for SMN ... someday.
level any of the two and switch to the other if you feel like it, they both get level'd up at the same time anyway
