There is no such thing as bad words. They are just words. The meaning behind them, however, can be good or bad depending on context and intent.

Also, you say you don't want to see the word "shit" but put the word "crap" in the title defeats your entire stance. They can, and often do, mean the same thing. Why is "crap" or "poop" acceptable, but not "shit"? The meaning is the same.

While I get your stance on this and understand it, those words have differing levels of vulgarity. While yes, ultimately they mean the same thing, some are less acceptable in certain circles of society to use.

Think about the myriad names of genitalia. You don't exactly go and talk to a gyno about your c*** (though to be fair I did have a drunk patient do this to me once... All the sober ones though were much more reserved! XD), you'd totally use something a little more tame, maybe even with a little base medical terminology on the side. What OP has said hasn't defeated his entire stance, he just prefers to use words with less vulgarity than those that are absolutely dripping with it D:.

There will always be SOMETHING out there that people find offensive. Even if they allowed you to add words to your own filter, you will grow old and die and still have not added enough words to your filter to both allow you to chat and block out everything offfensive.

Which is why I go back to my original advice to the OP, I dont care if you are 13 or 62, grow the frig up and ignore it. Honestly man, thousands of people that read this thread would have given you the finger if they saw you in person. What would you do? Get all sad about it and cower under the sheets? No way! You'd give the finger back, or in your head think... "what the f@$# was that guys problem". Lol...

Yes, it is. Ask any Credit Card company or Loan Officer. Between a customer with bad credit and one with no credit, they'll always favor the bad credit customer, and the bad credit customer stands a better chance of getting the loan or credit card than the no credit customer.

I wont continue past this post as to not get horribly off topic, and because this thread is horrible to begin with but, asking a credit card company or loan officer if it is better to be in debt or not in debt is probably the worst advice anybody could give. Of course they will tell you credit is important, they want your interest payments. Ill end this with one last comment to everyone.

Tried that when buying a house, apparently having 0 credit history at near 30 years old makes you a risk, even if you can prove that you are stable, and can cover the payments and then some... :x

This. You won't get a loan for a house with no credit... and on the off chance you do, it will be at high interest. You'd actually stand a better chance and get a lower interest rate with bad credit.

Oh, and to the previous poster I agree that credit is evil. I at no point advocated credit... don't know where you got that idea.

In any case, I only brought it up to illustrate that and ESRB "No rating" is often considered worse than Mature or Adult Only, similar to credit ratings. Shouldn't take this any more off topic.

Meh, the filter is adequate for its job. It's perfectly possible to make extremely offensive and/or threatening comments without ever using a bad word, so it's not going to prevent you seeing things you don't like.

I would like a custom filter because there are certain slurs (not swears....slurs) that I would like edited out. Luckily I rarely encounter them but they still do show up from time to time. I have no issue with swearing which is why I do not use the filter. But slurs would be nice to filter out...
