I'd support it. LNC has a pulling move and stun move, which the other 3 tanks have. They'd just have to have your dps moves generate more enmity while in the tank stance it would inevitably have. I could see it being doable.

Honestly, a LNC-based tank would be everything DRK is, but better. You'd have to put a 30% damage penalty on the tank stance, or you'll just blow everyone else's threat out of the water. I mean, look at how close a good DRG gets to your MT in 8-man content, and now imagine he's got an enmity bonus on top of that.

I'd had some flights of fancy of being an OT during 4-man content as a Dragoon, and I only lived through the Cerberus fight in WoD by equipping tank jewelry and attacking the Unknowns before they smeared the mages ("lol why a tank inside tahts dumb"), but I never really thought qualitatively about a spear tank until I saw the statue of Halone in Ishgard. I want it. I want there to be a shield-and-spear tank, it would be awesome.

You know, given that all of our gear right now isn't locked to drg/pld... this thread makes me wonder how fun it'd be to try out different base class comps in some of the 4 mans. You can basically go into 4 man dungeons with 187 gear right now and a SHIT TON of different abilities to toss on your hot bar. Like every jobs defensive cool downs. Swift cast. Ect. Makes me wanna see how well I do as gladiator in 4 man dungeons lol
