Please no F2P for FFXIV...why? Read on...

So I've played many MMOs and these days people are yelling subscription based P2P (Paid to Play) MMOs are no good and dead and everyone should go F2P (Free to Play).

Well if you just want more people to play your game F2P is the way to go...but you sacrifice the quality of players when you do so.

Also, contrary to popular belief a F2P game isn't free. In fact, the average person who invests into a F2P actually pays more...much more then a P2P game.

There's a certain game out there, I won't mention the name. In order to fully gear out your character to the max, assuming you chose your final set of gear and maxed out... the extra bonuses require spending lots of money in the cash shop...in fact it was calculated out to be some $6000+ USD. And once you set this if you they added new gear and you wanted to change your character gear you'd have to pay a load more again...MONEY PIT

If you take that $6000 and let's say FFXIV costs P2P $11 a month...you could play and max out and change your character to your content for the next 45 years. Which game would you choose?

Don't wish for F2P for FFXIV...it'll be a better quality game subscription based and the content will be available to all players. The quality of game will be based on content and player achievement rather then who is rich and who is poor.

Yes, along with the fact that they hate cash-shops and don't want them in the game thank god. These things have been known for quite some time! Reasons for current F2P are obvious xD

I don't mind SE doing a cash shop here and there for like vanity items. Just as long as it doesn't affect the game itself...I wouldn't mind buying say a ring of moogle transformation or something like that ha hahaha.

And I know SE won't make FFXIV a F2P. I'm just saying for those who are screaming free to play...they need to understand that F2P isn't that...

No matter how many people want the game to go F2P SE will not make it F2P ever, it has been said multiple times and this current subscriptions free period is as an apology to players because they messed up, and they know it, end of story.

If they went the F2P route with a cash shop like that (where you pay to get an upper hand) I'd quit playing.
I'm happy to pay a monthly fee and then play the game to get things.

I don't mind vanity items though, they're nice though again I'd rather them be attainable in game.

you guys need considered that P2P model need miminum of subscriber if this mmo want to survive, we need 500 000 subs for this game

How do you figure? I'm certain FFXI doesn't have half that number (even though I can't prove it), and it's doing just fine.
