Wow thank you very much for all your help guys.
Today I got my weaver to 60 and bought the lvl60 set to have an easier life collecting scripts for my master craft books. Should I meld or overmeld it?

Might be best to wait and see what Thursday brings. Melding might help a bit, overmelding will. But being the expensive thing that doing so is, I would save it for what the Red Scrips bring us.
The patch notes indicate that a better tier of crafting gear is on the way, so I wouldn't meld any more than you have to. My current gear sets are the best crafted items you can currently have at HQ for each slot but nothing is melded except for the belt and the rings. That's still enough to meet the minimum stat requirements for anything that existed prior to the patch, and as a bonus I can convert the current gear to materia without feeling like I wasted things now.
It wont be enough to make anything 2*. You need fully melded equipment for that (apart from the tools)The patch notes indicate that a better tier of crafting gear is on the way, so I wouldn't meld any more than you have to. You have to be rly rich or have a loooot of time for all this stuff.
I have the feeling DoH/DoL in HW isnt rly casual gamer friendly like ARR
Indeed. The stuff requires 718 Craftsmanship and 695 Control.
You will need to fully meld your clothing and jewelry to reach these minimums, and perhaps a craftsmanship materia in your primary+secondary to help.
Edit: Just getting started for the "new" stuff this week is a tremendous investment for people, materia-wise.

I did this right away off the bat @60's..... i hoarded materia from ARR. I have 721 crafts and 700 control now with no main/offhand melds, I swapped to HQ Baked Onion Soup to get as much progress done as fast as possibleIndeed. The stuff requires 718 Craftsmanship and 695 Control.
