    Chat Ruining Gameplay

Hi, I've been playing A Realm Reborn for a couple of days now on my ps3. While my overall gameplay experience has been okay, apart from some frame rate issues, running dungeons has been torture for me. I understand that teamwork and communication are key parts of this game, but I can't even get parties to stop moving long enough so I can type something in chat boxes. I'm worried that as a tank (gladiator), sooner or later I'll be constantly badgered if I'm not doing good enough as a tank, and I won't be able to say anything about it in time. Any advice?

If you don't have a cheap USB keyboard I recommend getting one. Other than that you could make some common reply macros and ones that state your situation for slow typing. You'll still get hassled by someone, but many will be understanding.

I'm on ps3 too and it is a little cumbersomeven with a keyboard. Find a good fc too. Having people that have a vested interest in your ability helps.

Best solution is a Bluetooth keyboard. Go for something compact that you can throw on the couch beside you that is comfortable to use on your lap (avoid full size). My setup is a PS3 and compact keyboard and I find it to be comfortable and not in the least bit awkward. Having the keyboard definitely enhances the communication aspect of the game.

FC = Free Company, Guilds if you have any other Mmo experience, its just a group of like minded people who are usually willing to help with information and such

Oh I see. Thanks for the advice everyone. Hopefully I can find a quality keyboard for a reasonable price somewhere.

I use this one. It's not even wireless, just a basic USB keyboard except that the cord is 8 feet long to accommodate TV to couch distances, but it works well (with both PS3 and PS4). And there's no latency issues like I've heard some of the Bluetooth ones have.

Also if you are a tank let them run ahead and die, that way they will notice you were typing.

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.
