Since we already got our new "Crystal Tower" (a.k.a. Alexander NM) and we won't be getting any intermediate raids any time soon (given the supposedly very high difficulty of Savage Alexander), wouldn't it be nice to actually give us our first challenging 24-man raid in 3.1?
I mean, let's be serious: the Labyrinth of the Ancients was slightly challenging when it came out back in 2.1 since it required a minimum amount of skill and coordination within the alliance, but the Syrcus Tower and the World of Darkness were complete facerolls, bare from almost any real challenge and quite boring to do after the first few times.
I won't make comparisons with other MMOs (even though I should), but we have the option to create alliances by inviting 3 full parties in-game and what is this option used for? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Hell, we still don't even have a legit way to queue for a Crystal Tower instance with anything more than a full party. This total lack of large-scale content makes me also wonder what's the point of having a Free Company besides giving you a few buffs and a borderline useless house (always if your FC could even find one available), since we are always forced to play in small static groups or random PUGs anyway.
If you really feel there is a need for even more casual content (as if all the dungeons, trials, hunts, story quests, levequests, guildhests, treasure maps and "raids" weren't enough) then fine, give us at least a Normal/Story Mode and a Hard Mode version doable by a premade alliance (not random PUGs in the DF, at least not at launch) and with some actual challenge and rewards. Be careful though, this is NOT asking for a difficulty or one-shotting mechanics similar to the pre-nerf Binding Coils of Bahamut, as that may be too hard to manage with a 24-man alliance (in a Savage version perhaps?), but a difficulty that is more of a mix between the Labyrinth of the Ancients and the Extreme Primals and mechanics that require strategy development, high performance and strict coordination between all groups.
