Point is noone ever made that much gil in WoW purely from dungeon spamming. Your memory is probably confused with the figures we have in FFXIV (where a mil is easily obtained)
My personal hope for the crafting updates is either they reduce the amount of items taken needed to craft the new things or increase the drop rate/crafting quantity.
As an example the Draconian Potions take 2 timed items (edit 3 forgot the newer timed rock salt)), 1 rngus drop from timed items, and some assorted crap just to make ONE potion. Old recipes made 3. I think 1-2 timed items and assorted crud, or 1 rngus drop + assorted crud for ONE would be acceptable, or the current recipe for 3. Especially considering that 5 drop at a time from maps.

How is this topic still alive, I literally made a parallel to the OP being discreetly racist(Classist? Lifestylist? Something really unsavory) 13 pages back and he was like "It's okay this time screw crafters" and started slurring on like Mel Gibson in a police station. Like this topic is, from the very beginning, really really bad.
I'm just... in terms of the topic? I'm going to keep doin' what I'm doin'. If I didn't like crafting I probably wouldn't do it. But I do, so I'm gonna keep doin' it. I mean geez why do you even hate crafted gear so much it's not even competitive with gear from raids and never will be, if you wanna look pretty much make some friends bro

I am suprised so many people in this thread waste their time with a crying baby who clearly has no clue how economy works.
As for OP: since you are self-sufficient, there is no rush/competition vs other crafters/gathers, why not just take your time? The game is out for only 1 month, and they said 50-60 is going to take as long as 1-50, I think this applys to DoH/DoL too.

He made another thread a while back and when I pointed out how stupid it was he just ignored it and keeps on trucking on. He will doubtlessly post more threads in the future as if it makes any difference. I don't know where he gets the idea that the OF has influenced anything but he has to believe that in order to give purpose to his own attempts to lobby. The 2.0 market was exactly the same, the only really dead period being 2.1 due to the only crafting update being furniture with a dead housing market. How is this topic still alive, I literally made a parallel to the OP being discreetly racist(Classist? SE is interested in managing an economy, anti-intellectual bores will ironically complain that things aren't handed to them but call crafters entitled.
it's not a story of economy or being on par with dungeon gears.
it's a story of being logical.... the craft 51-59 are leveling craft, asking tons of component or timed component for gears that can be simply changed in a couple of hours is stupid. make the craft harder for make it harder without give it a role or an utility exept for craft and gatherer is the main trouble here.
instead to work on something that will make the craft rewarding outside some overpriced glamour item they did decide to screw crafter and make it a pain to level up or even be able to enjoy it. some people come here defend this why? because they are using the board for get tons of gils, forgeting that the trouble is still there. they haven't really find a way to make gatherer and crafter an activity interesting. that sad because the crafting by itself is interesting but how they reward player doing it, is bad!
but it's not only for crafter and gatherer... outside dungeon and raid, the game is bland! nothing is on par with dungeon and raid, instead to offer activity that can be rewarding at the same level... they did offer nothing.
There are a few things I'd like to say about the subject.
Leveling crafts doesn't take gil, only time. I have gathered all the necessary leve materials for my crafts so far. Zero gil spent on leveling crafts. Leveling gathering is free. There goes the money argument.
The fact that crafting and gathering consumes time is good. It gives players who don't like raiding a reason to play past the point where they complete the storyline.
Time cost for leveling crafting creates a thriving free market. If everything was fast to level and fast to get mats for, people would not trade because they wouldn't have to. A thriving free market in an MMO is a good thing because it makes people interact with each other. Massively Multiplayer etc.
The fact that crafted goods sell well is good, because it gives a reason to invest time in crafting in the first place. This keeps people playing and interacting with each other (trading).
The fact that everyone can have every DoH and DoL class at max makes it possible to be completely self sufficient, unlike the OP claims.
The fact that crafting and gathering is completely optional makes the people who complain (about the cost or time commitment) seem very entitled. Nobody's forcing you to do it.
Everyone gets one free glamour, their starting gear. Anything you want after that you need to put some effort in. Getting those extra glamours is something to keep you busy during your playtime. This is good in an MMO. However, it's also completely optional. Again, nobody's forcing you to do it.
When you cry about optional activities being too demanding, you are essentially asking the game to suit your desires whilst ignoring other people's enjoyment. Some people enjoy having time consuming but rewarding projects in an MMO (relic weapon, glamour, crafting, mount farming). If you get your way and things become easy to accomplish, those people lose the very thing they enjoy. Asking for this is by definition selfish.

exept there, people seems to forget that some craft are easier than other to get to the same point, the example of the alchemy and leatherwork are perfect for this...
take the amount of time needed for craft something in armorer and weaver in comparaison of the time needed for the alchemy and leatherwork and compare it. the basic component are often far easier thyan the leatherwork or alchemy.
it's not without reason that they did added some component that was on timed node to a npc quite fast... because most of the craft are unbalanced and was make like it was continuity of the actuall ARR end game crafting. exept we are not in the endgame ARR crafting, but into the leveling HW crafting. that a huge difference.
i'm not there talking about the expert recipe, but of the basic one, that where the adjustement is needed.
I do those Daily crafter quests every day! Im at lv 53-55!
I barely ever craft anything though. o_O
I just check the Market board if there is cheap/Flooded stuff. If not -> Goes to a NPC Shop and finish daily quest.
Those craftable items lv+51 cost way to much expensiv materials! Buying the wanted item(Gear/weapon) from a NPC is like 10x cheaper. <.<
