Help Needed For Healing The Howling Eye

So I've recently reached the point where I can't continue on in the story until I've completed the howling eye however I'm aware thats its one of the harder trials and that has made me very nervous. Are there any spells, techniques that I should avoid/use to help with the trial? Any advice is welcome.

The first big question is which healing class are you, as that affects what tools you have to work with.

We can already eliminate AST since this is story Garuda so you dont have it yet. Are you a WHM or a SCH?

Mostly the transitional phase from phase one to two. I can keep everyone up during the end of phase one but cant quite get the second bit right yet.

So after she does her ultimate and destroys the pillars? She will make a purple tornado with a clear area in the middle. The Tank should take her to the top end and the Healer stands at the opposite end so they are not in range of her AoE. She will spawn some adds that need to be nuked down, She'll teleport to the middle after a while and do an attack you need to get behind her for this. She does another attack where she teleports to one side of the tornado so stand at the other end. The attack takes up one half of the tornado and it's instant death.

She'll do adds again and just repeat the phase though she should be dead by the time the next adds are downed. As long as people don't derp into stuff that purple tornado phase is pretty easy.

I think I know your problem. What usually happens after the transition from phase one to two is that everyone is critically low, and she'll then immediately use her targeted AoE attack on someone and kill them (or multiple people). My recommendations for this are:

    1) Ensure that your party spreads out a bit. You should still be able to hit the entire party with Medica, even with people not being directly adjacent to eachother.

    2) Prepare a Medica cast to go off just after she finishes casting Aerial Blast (her big attack), using Divine Seal before it in order to boost the power of the Medica. You want to time it so that it goes off after the damage has already hit your party, but before she has a chance to hit anyone with her targeted AoE. This takes a bit of practice, but you should pick it up pretty quickly.

    3) Use Cure I/Cure II as appropriate to top up anyone who isn't yet at full HP.

If you're still struggling with the transition, do your best to try and ensure that your party gets to Limit Break 1 before the transition. The healer Limit Break 1 will restore 25% of HP and MP, which is usually enough to keep everyone alive.

Alternatively you can also ask the tank to use the limit break and reduce the damage going into the phase transition so you have less to heal coming out of it.

As a WHM who regularly clears Garuda SM to help my FC members, Regen is your friend. It is soooooo strong, especially with Divine Seal doubling the potency (Divine Sealed Regen kept many of my tanks topped for the entire duration). You should have enough mana to be able to stance dance Holy to deal with the razor plumes and help your dps.
